I would like to see what you guys can come up with.

Ok.

whipped this up in less than a minute.

brought down the contrast because she was too pale.
made her hair more red-ish and added blonde highlights because she was way too pink. I don't like pink.
cropped the shot as such because her boobs are a distraction and her face is much more attractive on its own.
NO airbrushing anywhere on her skin because I believe models should look natural.

Had a little tinker with your photo 007MIKE...

but it seems that whenever I upload the picture it dulls the colours and highlights down a bit. :(

Haven't seen a woman's face that match pink hair so well in my entire life.
Awesome shots too.

I played around with the photo abit. I mainly just did standard touch-ups.

Considering the lens and camera you used (Canon 40D + Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L USM for those who don't know how to look at the RAW info), I'm surprised it didn't turn out sharper than it is. I've gotten sharper results from my 30D and 50mm f/1.8.

Anyways, aside from normal sharpening, saturation tweaking and what not, I changed her eye color to green.

Your absolutely correct! If you look at the file you will see that the lens back focused. Her left eye and the hair next to it is a lot sharper than the majority of her face. F7.1 saved the day and it also saved me from having to blur the pores on her face. Somethings shouldn't be too sharp :) Overall the shot is sharp enough for web use.

Great work guys! Its exciting to see the different approaches photographers take when editing the same photo.

I really like the highlights in the hair. How do you create that effect exactly ? It looks like there's some banding taking place. It makes me think of a particular effect used in old scifi movies a bit like in Predator.

Heres my attempt. I'm working on an awkwardly dark monitor until my new one arrives in a week or so. Hopefully it won't look blown out as it doesn't on mine...

Also, I had to edit mine from Juggalo's original, I couldn't get your DL working 007MIKE! Edit time only took me about 10 mins max.

EDIT: Just realised I didn't crop from the screen cap properly, and that I did a **** job of the background, oooops. My main focus was on the girl, anyway.

What didn't work? The download itself or the files? For the 40d raw you will need 1 of 3 programs: Digital Photo Professional, CS3 or higher with a raw update that reads 40d files, Lightroom 2.0 or higher ... or any program that will open .dmg files.

Well the contrast are higher, and it still doesn't look "blown out" from here. You seem to have a very large passion for higher contrasts and perfectly smooth skin. Nice touch even though natural shots are the best, ever :p (Professional shop'ed/clean shots are always the better direction in the industry anyway).

I also second post 909. :B

It was a simple color replacement after darkening the pink so it was closer to red. I didn't even bother cleaning any of it up where it spills onto her skin a little, quick job.

...I know. I work with RAW. I do Photography as a degree remember.....

I'll be interested to see just how high the contrast is when my new monitor is here because really I don't make the contrasts high at all. I make blacks black, and her pink hair more pink. I actually made the skin darker. So it will be very interesting indeed!

Anywhere But Here
I messed around with a few more shots from last weekend. It is most difficult to perform a salvage operation when there is very little to salvage. Out of all the shots I took of the Fashion Show Mall's big "ufo" shade, only one came out that has most of the damned thing actually in the picture and isn't extremely noisy. The sun was already setting as I started my project.

The green custom bike was one of the items you can win at the TI casino.

All in all, I am getting a little bit more familiar with what works and what doesn't work with the camera. As you can see, composition is taking a back seat for now.

I thought I might get into the "let's alter the photo of the pretty girl" thingy. I gave it a shot, may not be all that great, but I think she came out unscathed. You be da judge.

I didn't want her to have that airbrushed look, but I did do some light smudge work here and there to remove some overly shiny areas of her skin. I also fixed the yellowish area under her arm that some of you missed (it stands out when you increase saturation or contrast). I also slightly modified her eye color and tweaked her smile a bit. A few more slight modifications ensued before I was done but I hope I did not ruin this beautiful girl's picture.

Crotale:

1st shot looks really unrealistic, is this HDR? I can see some white shadows around most of the objects like the palm trees, 2nd shot is really nice, looks really sharp when displayed by the screenshot tag, seems to have lost it's quality when viewing it original size.

Keep it up.
