I really like this picture. It reminds me of a national park in Texas I've visited a few times. So here are a couple of pictures I've taken. These were all taken with my Casio Exilim. Looking at getting a DSLR when I get back stateside. Any recommendations? I've been looking at Canon's 40D and Rebel XSi but haven't decided yet.

I took that picture at a national park in Texas. Colorado Bend State Park. It's a little east of Austin. :p

That would make sense then. It reminds me of the Lost Maples State Park. (sorry thought it was a national park there for a second). If you can hit lost maples at the right time of year you can get some great photos of the leaves changing.

I really like the second shot. Just a suggestion; Try cropping some of the bottom of the shot out. I think it's too distracting, but that's just me. :)

Also, I have the Cannon EOS Kiss X2 which is the Japanese version of the XSi. I really like it so far. The shots I posted above in this thread from my trip are with that camera.

On another note here is a shot I took a few weeks ago when things were blooming with my Lomo LC-A.

Nah. I thought the same thing. I suppose it's the sky looking awesome, and the ground is just, really out of place.

My beef with it is that the horizon isn't level in the sky shot or the boat shot. Both shots are tilted a little funny.

Also, try bringing up the exposure on the ground in that sky shot. It might be hard to do without the shot going too grainy. With the ground that dark and hard to see, especially in contrasted to the bright clear sky, it either doesn't need to be there, or should offer a visual balance to the sky. :)

Thanks for the input guys. TWTW, the reason I think they are tilted that way is because I am right handed. Until you pointed it out I hadn't noticed. Thanks. When I get back to the states I am planning on taking a photography class so I can better understand the dynamics.
