Mucking around with light inside my room:

Omfg, today we had all 4 seasons in one. This is by far the most beautiful rainbow I've ever witnessed.

Is everyone here into photography except for me? Needless to say all of these look extremely good and interesting, I don't really see where some of you found the subjects or locations like Hazel for instance.

A lot of BuF'ers came here via the modding and custom content community around UT, which makes themc reative folks and creative folks tend to dabble in photography at one stage or another, also most people atleast have a camera, or camera phone and thus take holiday snaps and such which they are proud of.

That accounts for some of it, not to mention I believe we have some professional photographers around too.

Evening in Moscow. Done 30 minutes ago, exposure - 10 seconds (hence the blurry trees' branches), ISO 50.

Awesome shot, did you add some photoshop effects or you got that all standard? The background sure isn't looking like a sky.

It's in a very dark indoor part of the zoo where all the reptiles, amphibians, and fish live. I shot it on a monopod at 800 ISO (maybe 400, I can't remember) with my 70-200mm telephoto lens.

I tweaked the white balance and levels a little, but that was about all.

This exhibit was mostly fish and turtles in a cave like setting but there was one little tree frog sitting on a vine up at the top.

I got a question from those in the know. I am going to head down to Saint Lucia on Monday and plan to take pictures in the Jungle. I am wondering what ISO I should shoot at to really capture the detail. The canopy can block out a lot of the direct sunlight and digital cameras kind of get ugly i think in overcast light, so I am wondering what would be the best ISO to set the camera to?

In a shadowy forest, I usually use a monopod and an ISO around 200-800, but I also use a fairly wide-open aperture depending on the lens. I don't know, it really depends on each picture. If you're shooting digital, fire off a few test shots and see what the histogram looks like if your camera can show a histogram.

Also one thing to keep in mind, plants and trees tend to move around a lot, even in a slight breeze, so make sure your shutter speed is fast enough to catch them clearly.

We had to put him down last weekend. He had developed a brain tumor in the last few months and was going downhill fast. I'll really miss that guy.

My GF was in town last week to visit, so we went to Saint Lucia for a few days. Good times, but I wish she could of stayed here longer so we could of stayed there longer. Anyway, here are some pics from there.
