I won't get into some of the "odd" maps you guys have. But what I will get into is the Specialist goddamn mode. INF wants to be "realistic" right? If you were the unlucky SOB selected to be the specialist for a mission, I bet you would with out a damn doubt in the world know before you go, right? Yet if INF, you may not. A great example would be me tonight. I was in fact the specialist. And you would think with a forced 9mm loadout, I would have figured it out. Seems I did not. Instead I bitched about loadout bugs because I didn't have my P90. I think the specialist should have something that says he/she is the specialist without a damn doubt. Like, something that says specialist in the HUB in large letters, possibly in RED. And this has to stay there, not just when you spawn.

And whenever I complain about maps with the same spawns and the same extraction, everybody says EAS-INF-Mostar. So I guess the only realistic solution is to play Mostar over and over since the other maps are the same spawn killing BS over and over;) I guess some variety in spawns and objectives was a last minute decision. All I know is, there is some guy around the corner, with his sites set, ready for me to come around the corner and die. For me, no matter what, that seems to get old quick. I thin with some randomness, there wouldn't be so may predetermined death points in INF. I predict random spawn and extraction mutators in the future to keep INF fresh.

I'm just confused with the EAS/SPECIALIST gametype switch. As for spawnkilling and so on, that is a conversation that could go on for days. But if you don't want to change the current situation, that is fine. Just be more understanding of jackasses like me who run around with the M9 like rambo messing it up for the whole team thinking it's is some kind of error. I suppose I just need to play on GD every single day to keep up with the changes.

Jay when you arrive in a spec map, just push F1. It will tell you who is the spec, or even push F3 which will as well. If you are the spec then simply reconnect. The next person to get chosen will perhaps want to be the spec. I enjoy it personally.

On Mostar your spawns and where the BH lands is totally random. Spawn killing happens on occassion but it would be a shame to take out such a fun map because of a few rare occurances. :)

In fact, there are four possible crash sites and four (I think) different spawn points, but this seems to be enough variety to avoid most spawncamping (although spawning in the river can be tough sometimes).

Looking through the Dev thread, it does seem that many new maps will be using random elements, if not random spawning. This should help at least.

i like when things are random but i like when things arent.

because it is supposed to be a single mission simulated on the internet, and single mission = single objectives. it isnt a problem for me.

theires enough maps to make things different

hey odie , i heard a bad comment from ntkb about urban assault.he said it was a nightmarre to attack. and you made it a specialist map it makes it harder ;) .. maybe its not good for a 18 player server? does it works right ? no bugs , bsp, collisions reported ? ok to be released ? considering the hours you guys play i cant test it myself.

ntkb wanted me to open some windows to help the attackers but i think i wont touch it , because it was an AS map at the beggining, and this conversion ain't even mine , it is T ahlen map , just a kind of compability patch


and , just because we cool , doesnt means you HAVE to keep my conversions on the server..just for you to know it





but its ok keep them :D

Well, it seemed most people disliked it. I thought it was fun (IMO). People did said BUGGED a lot but I do not recall what they thought was bugged. However, it was reported that once the Attackers got the CD, the compass did not point where to take it. My team did not get that far and I have not played it since then.

I went ahead and took it off rotation but I would check the compass thing.

mm you might not have uploaded the last version of urban assault, since the first had the problems of random deco who disapear online , that was found but the map stayed a few days on the server;
the last version works great and the extraction is in the compass ,but i'll change something though : the semi bullet prof fences.. bullets have to pass through. maybe thats why people said it was bugged.

no need for more online tests thank you , ill do it with our server later

Change rotation a little
Changed some Map Times and Bad Cammo's
Added Beppo's Canadian Cammo's (changed some maps to use them too)
Updated GDMutiePack Link for Version 6 for new Cammo's.

Combatmaps.de has a map called "Bastillestation" but not Bastille. Are they the same maps? I can't connect whenever the "Bastille" map is being run by the server. :(

When I was testing that map with Vega-Don I renamed the file from Bastille to Bastillestation when he sent me what ended up as the Final version (I changed it to keep from getting mis-matches). I assume that before he uploaded it to Combatmaps.de he also renamed the map file name.

However, I found out later that I could not set the map cammos from the defaults (well I could but they would always change back to the defaults). I "believe" it was becasue I manually renamed the file to Bastillestation. When I renamed it back to just Bastille the cammo change started to work correctly.

So, change your Bastillestation to just Bastille and see if that works. If it does, please reply back here so I can have Vega-Don upload the map again to Combatmaps.de
