-Single Player Campaign: Gone, and replaced with a heavily "Assault feeling" set of objective-based levels.
Well, he did register in Dec 2008.Thought that was obvious enough to everyone here![]()
there, fixed that for youby 2001 I had pretty much fallen off of CTF-Face to the earth
Well, he did register in Dec 2008.
Not everyone remembers my oldschool self anyway. I mean honestly, by 2001 I had pretty much fallen off of the face of the earth as far as the community was concerned. At least until the development cycle of UT2004.
That said, the new content released by Epic has always been pretty game-changing. Think of the ECE for 2k4 as the best example of this. 2k4 without the ECE vehicles just seems strange, now, and I expect something similar for UT3, though I can't think of what might do the trick for UT3, given its low popularity.
I really hope that by "new gametypes" they mean actual new ideas, not retreads of ideas that the community could have done but didn't, chose to do and which received no online support. There's not a single gametype from the older games that we need to see an "official" version of, including my very favorite, Domination.
This is a perfect opportunity for them to field-test new gameplay: a solid base game, an active (if small) community, and a genuine need to redeem a major franchise. I hope Epic takes this chance, and gives us something the world hasn't seen implemented a dozen times before.
If you want it fixed properly...there, fixed that for you
by 2001 I had pretty much AS-FallenCity off of the CTF-Face of the DOM-ScorchedEarth
And getting ****faced.Well, he did register in Dec 2008.

Now I usually post in news article threads and the level design forum. I could easily go undetected. haha
**My 4 year old saw me playing UT3 this morning when he woke up, he said "Dat's not your zombie game, dat's your old game. It's working now?"
Hate to go OT with this but...
Gimme a break man.
They give these games MA17 ratings for a reason.
You let your 4-year-old watch you play Left 4 Dead (Im assuming that's your "zombie game) and games like UT?
My buddy's 6-year-old got up one night and saw him playing L4D by accident, then had nightmares for a week.
He also got sent home one day from his school and his parents called in as his teacher overheard him talking about headshots and killing people. He was talking about "his daddy's game" counter-strike which he was sneaking glimpses at through his bedroom doorway when he was supposed to be asleep at night.
Also reminds me of the time me and a friend went to see Freddy vs. Jason and the theater was full of parents with their 10-year-olds, who spent most of the movie yelling "KILL HIM KILL HIM" at Jason's current victim on screen.
The amount of ignorance in parents these days amazes me.
I must be getting old or something.
yeah well not all kids are total pussies you know. Tell this one to toughen up imoMy buddy's 6-year-old got up one night and saw him playing L4D by accident, then had nightmares for a week.
I agree that this is a bad thing though. I've got no problem with letting a kid watch me play unreal or half life or anything really, but i make sure that they know what happens in the computer room stays in the computer room. If i ever found out that the kids were saying things like "Boom headshot" or "killing spree" at school i would be very upset because i have made sure they understand it is something you just don't do.He also got sent home one day from his school and his parents called in as his teacher overheard him talking about headshots and killing people.
VIOLENCE's good for children........![]()
The games they see and play don't dictate who they are, but who they are dictates the games they play.
you areI can't imagine letting my kids (2 and 3 yrs.) play or watch violence (incl. video games) until they're quite a bit older. I'm thinking probably 10 or so for a bloodless FPS (like TF2), and 13 or 14 for anything with gore.
But hey, that's just me. I won't even let my kids watch Kung Fu Panda b/c I think it's too violent, so maybe I'm just a freak...
I lost a nearly completely redesigned version of that and a Rune CTF map in a hard drive crash in 2001. Both maps were nearly finished. So sad.never forgotten... CTF-Stronghold - FTW!!!!
