Version 1.48 is out.
It is now eerily quiet on Mostar and Iraq ;)
And I have added a new ini option to reduce the round times for Foxhunt (keep it between 0 and 1 plz, current default is 0.7)

On making DM conversion of EAS maps, Crowze is right, it doesn't hurt to ask SS about it.

I forgot to take screenshots, but it seems something is weird with the removal of the chopper (Tuscany and Iraq):

You still see the bots from inside the chopper in the middle of the sky :)

Suggestion on the scoreboard side: How about adding 'rounds survived' while you're at it?

I know, the pilots don't need the choppers to fly. I will look into it but I don't consider it very urgent.

About rounds survived, just do the math, rounds survived = rounds played - death. I won't add something that you can figure out yourself by looking at the other values ;)

Yes please harper, no more kill stats. That's my opinion. As it is now they are displayed on the scoreboard and i find myself looking at it and feeling rambo-ish.

And I've heard lots of negative. It doesn't encourage teamwork, which is essentially what DTAS is all about. Besides, in real life you can't bring up a sheetload of statistics just like that, and, if you're really bothered about kills, you should monitor them yourself.

Well, from the readme:

bShowKills: displays kills in scoreboard

So where is the problem (or does it not work)?

New Version Idea:

How about an option to make it SPEC-DTAS?

The attackers have one or more Specialists and one of them has to capture the flag. (together with an arbitary player)

I have no clue wether its easy to do or if it would even work (gameplay wise). Its just something that came up my mind...

On Scoreboard: I can enjoy it without the scoreboard but for some its essential. I think its easier to ignore the scoreboard than to make up your own in mind. I don't wanne re-start a long debate (e-penising etc.) but why remove a working feature that is - as Lich said - already optional?

I really like Nukeproof's suggestion. Implementing an option where a Specialist has to participate in capturing the flag could lead to some extremely interesting scenarios. Escorting is a nerve wracking experience, that's for sure.

I have no feelings one way or the other in regards to having the tally as part of the scoreboard. So, I guess it might as well be kept.

Wasn't aware of that. I'd urge JgKdo to set in on their server, then, although I thought the idea was to move towards a fixed setup for DTAS common to all servers.

The specialist idea sounds good, but may tip the balance towards the defenders. Quite heavily, in my view. I'd maintained that I wouldn't change anything siginficant gameplay-wise because of the problem of balance. However, maybe having one specialist who can capture the objective without help may work, but I think the 2-defenders rule should still be in place for the specialist.

EDIT: Also, per-map configuration for the specialist's loadout could be good to help balance things.

I think DTAS-SPEC wouldn't be a good idea, the problem is with a specialist 2 things can happen:
1) The specialist is escorted to the flag involving some decent teamplay
2) Players get bored of babysitting the specialist, realize they can't capture the flag without him and go TDM
Even if players would stick to the first point (I seriously doubt that) I always thought that a good thing about DTAS is that every player has the same chance of capturing the CD (but only with help of course)
Beside that, as Crowze already mentioned it might tip the balance towards the defenders. I think the balance is quite fine (maybe it favors the defenders a bit because of the needed 2 attackers).
I will think it over for a while, but I don't think I will change my mind on that.

On kills, here are the possibilities, pick one:
- no kills (and no option to enable it)
- show only own kills
- show all kills (clients can set that on their own)
- show all kills (server decides)
- show all kills without option to disable it

And has anyone any other ideas? (not involving kills or a new gamemode ;) )
