Hmm. I have 2 setups. One is basically WASD (,aoe for me, Dvorak keyboard.)
Dvorak layout:

The other is a sideways setup I got from Descent 1!
f foreward
y left
h right
d back
p crouch
space jump
g use
u weaponset 1
e weaponset 2
o weaponset 3
Weaponsets change depending on what I am playing, of course. ASMD->sniper, Rockets->flak->bio, and link->mini are my most common 3. ONS uses link->grenade->mini for example.
It seems odd, but it does work. UT does not need as many keybinds as some games (day of defeat, for example) so the adjustment may not be worth it...
WASD gives you 12-14 keys within easy reach (not counting wasd-shift-space)
fyhd gives 16-19 (depending on your thumb mostly...)
Lots more functions, higher learning curve.
