Heh, I still find it funny that when you throw out double assault rifles (or double enforcers in UT), only one actually comes out, and when you pick it up, all of a sudden you only have one. It's not very reasonable, but then again, it is Unreal...

Hmm. I have 2 setups. One is basically WASD (,aoe for me, Dvorak keyboard.)
Dvorak layout:
`1234567890[]
',.pyfgcrl/=\
aoeuidhtns-
;qjkxbmwvz

The other is a sideways setup I got from Descent 1!
f foreward
y left
h right
d back
p crouch
space jump
g use
u weaponset 1
e weaponset 2
o weaponset 3
Weaponsets change depending on what I am playing, of course. ASMD->sniper, Rockets->flak->bio, and link->mini are my most common 3. ONS uses link->grenade->mini for example.

It seems odd, but it does work. UT does not need as many keybinds as some games (day of defeat, for example) so the adjustment may not be worth it...
WASD gives you 12-14 keys within easy reach (not counting wasd-shift-space)
fyhd gives 16-19 (depending on your thumb mostly...)
Lots more functions, higher learning curve.

Off course
Oh, I see...Ehm. Listen: if you bump a thread (=adding a post to a thread in which the last post was more than about a week ago), you might take into account that the rest of us might not remember the topic. It really helps if you explain a bit why you are posting it a bit clearer (eg. by quoting someone else). Thanks :)

That being said...That's a weird setup indeed. It might be the most complicated, but it's rather hard to imagine how your keyboard looks (lines 3 to 6 of your post are the lines of your keyboard, right?).

Either way: Welcome to Beyondunreal :)

I didn't respond to this thread?

I use like 1.75 mouse sensitivity and 25.00 acceleration. I'm decent with hitscan and decent with mid/close range weapons.

Decent. :)

Sorry about bumping... Most of the forums I visit are rather less active, so I assumed a week was fine.

Yes, it's weird. Works best with the keyboard at a 45 degree angle. I find that I use it less and less for UT, as that many keybinds really aren't needed. It's a relic from the days of Descent 1: 6 directions of movement, 6 angles (f/b/u/d/l/r moves, pitch/roll/yaw angles.) I used a very similar setup and my left hand for all of that, and my right on the numpad to handle weapons.

JohnDoe641, the last time I was here was back when I was with the Dark Magic team.

Another note on mouse sensitivity: I find that it is good to have different sensitivity for X and Y. I turn my Y up, and can hitscan jumping players much easier. Many players seem limited in their Z axis movement and aiming, I always try to gain the high ground to take advantage of this.

Bump wasn't the problem, it was more the lack of quote in what you were responding to specifically, I think he was expressing.

...and there is a well known forum regular here, with the user name Peregrine, that I'm sure popped into all of our heads when we saw your name. That is who he thought you were.

I hate it when that happens...
