What's wrong with the Krall? They're just cousins of the Skaarj.
Assault type objectives will be in Conquest.
In order to see hands, they'd have to model hands for every race.
Darkmatch was overrated
Nali were peaceful... not so great in a multiplayer fighting game.
Dual enforcers are in.
Krall just seemed a little... I don't know. I'd rather have skaarj or even brutes.
They'd have to model hands for every race? They DO model hands for every race! Would it be that hard to detach them from the main model and paste them in? It would take an hour or two in the hands of a pro.
Darkmatch was sweet, plus REAL TIME LIGHTING! wooot!
Nali had four arms and said cool things like oubidah!
\o/ dual enforcers!

Well, seeing as how the Enforcers are pistols and not grenade-wielding Assault Rifles, I'd say they won't be able to launch projectile explosives.

I was entertaining the possibility that they might change the enforcer.

I hope that NVIDIA or ATI make a new GPU really soon.
By the looks of it, I'm guessing that even the best graphics cards will have some trouble with this game, maybe low FPS.
I just hope everything works out.

New GPUs due out June/July featuring twice the speed of current GPUs.

Could you please give me some more information? Have you got any links to prove this? And will NVIDIA make the GPU or will it be ATI? Or both?

From some info i picked up it looks like ATi's SLi comptetition will be dual 16x pci-e slots (yes, new mobos..). If there's the same leap from 9800s to x800s (nvid 5* series to 6* series) then there will be more than enough power to go around, at the GPU level anyway. What will be more important for bottlenecks, imho, is stocking up with 64 bit processor power, and plenty ram.

ps. tournament0 - you're online, do your own searching, start with google, otherwise go to the ati site, the nvidia site, hardware sites.. browse, surf and do your own work.

yeah, I think it would be just about the worst decision to upgrade right now. Wait for dual core processors, they'll also give a massive boost in UE3 and the next gen graphics cards. A 6800 simply won't cut it.

I've seen Gears of War running on a 6800 and it was quite smooth. Considering they have a lot of time to optimize the engine, I wouldn't be TOO worried. :)

Darkmatch wasn't overrated - it was just underdone. Having totally static lightmaps so that you can't make darkmatch style mods/mutators anymore though? That sucks total ass, and I certainly hope UE3 will have a better system to handle dynamic lighting than UE2 did.

UE3 has 100% dynamic lighting on absolutely everything :p

A 6800 will be able to run the game but probably only on low/medium settings. I for one want to see the engine in it's full glory :)

Seen where?

Alot of the technology demo at GDC/E3 was actualy part of UT "envy".

Well..judging by the list, the first Unreal is dying away. Atleast they bring the stinger back, but then remove the biorifle. To remove the skaarj is to finally kill the roots of the Unreal universe because they were the main race we encountered on Na Pali so long ago. The Nali are gone already. I hope one day we will see them again. I miss my Nali brothers *sniff*.

I know this is UT and not Unreal but the game still has Unreal in the title ya know?

um, you bet your ****ing ass it does. its called realtime lighting and shadows. hell, the shadows even blur the further they are from the lighsource. it would be absolutely 100% perfect for Darkmatch. Even if they dont include it, its going to be super easy to mod. I'll even bet people will be making custom flashlights, like hello-kitty or something :) . mine would act like a strobe light to completely annoy the **** out of other players

Not to mention proper flares, as Radeon pointed - custom flashlights, much more complicated darkness mods/mutators, maps with user adjustable lighting ....

Yeah. I could go on for a while :) So it's good to know UE3 will be making it possible, instead of hacking around it w/ projectors and their ilk.
