That pic of them just screams "These guys look legit." I'll bet they drew straws to see who had to hold the game for the pic.
With the way you have to make requests to the character to do actions, which he "may or may not do", I wouldn't be surprised if you could add a Hott Coffee-type patch to the game, and make the... appropriate suggestions. Judging by his appearance, he wouldn't show any interest in complying with your requests, if you know what I mean.

I have a strong feeling that some of the guys in the picture probably had no idea the stuff was stolen.
I expect a someone had some good ideas about a game but lacked the talent so either started stealing a few bits here and there and cobbling together what they could do to see how they'd get along and/or hired someone else who insisted they could do it all when in fact all they could do was steal from other games whilst the person who hired them and didn't play enough games to know what was going on got jipped.
Certainly i'd imagine more people involved weren't aware that stuff was stolen at all than people who did. At least one persons hould've known better though and probably just ruined all their friends lives... at least for a bit anyway
Seems they were stealing backgrounds back even when the game was being made for the Amiga. Look at the background, the lines on the walls. Apart from minor edits, they're exact.

Hey guys, I've been following these LotL threads avoidly on various forums. I'm seeing a lot of people finding different plagiarized works and I don't want anything to get lost in some obscure thread somewhere. This is way too epic to just let disappear.
So, I've set up a wiki as a centralized resource to gather up everything that people have been finding. It's pretty bare-bones right now, but I'm going to keep updating it with screenshots of new locations as I play through the game and i'll add any new comparison shots that people post.
Since it's a wiki, anyone who wants to is welcome to contribute:

I am starting to admire the audacity of these guys for stealing so much stuff. Seriously, they even designed their own character (Captain Idon'tknowyourname) to resemble the guy (I believe it's Will Turner) in the Bethesda game Pirates of the Caribbean trailer, all in order to steal content from that video, and put it in their trailer for LotL!
Seriously, just wow. Bethesda has a very strong case against them, thanks to the gamers out there who are looking through the game to find stolen things
