I meant to say Impulse doesn't sell any games that require Steam activation. Conversely, Steam doesn't sell any games that have to be activated by Impulse, but I don't think they do that out of principle, I just don't think anyone who uses Impulse technology cares to use Steam for distribution. Are there any Impulse driven games that are available on anything but Impulse and retail?

Well, that makes sense. Why would you sell a game if it requires to download Steam to activate it, and vice versa?
Not sure about that. There aren't many Impulse activated games yet, and probably won't be, since Impulse::Reactor doesn't need the Impulse client.

To be honest steam is a load of bloat spy ware ****.

You should be able to load the games without loading the client. Friends, Achievements, the store are totally useless 99% of the time.

The only cool thing is save games on steam cloud but the only games that support that are the **** ones.

I don't think there are or possibly will be many games on Steam using Impulse::Reactor... but obviously it's still unknown if anyone other than Stardock gives a crap about it.

That may be true for you,but not for everyone. I like the achievements and I use the friends for chatting with friends and stuff all the time. So I'd say they are useless to me about 50% of the time, and that 50% is while I'm at work and not playing games or using Steam whatsoever :p

Yes, so many terrible games use Steam Cloud! Braid? HORRIBLE! Plants vs. Zombies? JUNK! Counter Strike? Dark Void Zero? Day of Defeat? HL2? HL2: Ep1? HL2: Ep2? The upcoming Fallout: New Vegas? Just Cause 2? Monkey Island 2 SE?
Portal? Serious Sam SE 1 and 2? Rocket Knight?

No, you're right. All of these games are terrible and should have never been made.

The ironic thing is that all four of those games are on Steam and they all integrate with SteamWorks on there. So the only benefit to Reactor comes when you get them through Impulse :) I thought the point was you didn't even NEED Impulse ;)

Well Sacraboar doesn't seem to have anything Steam specific but I also can't tell if it's using Impulse::Reactor on Steam.

I did read something about THQ using Impulse::Reactor, but I looked at some recent THQ games and they don't seem to be using it so... ?

edit: I just read that Sacraboar uses SteamWorks on Steam and they are working on adding achievements to it, too.

I'm not certain since I've never seen them, but there is really no connection between Impulse client and the Reactor. Retail versions of the games must come with Reactor thus benefiting from the features there.

Actually, I really like and dislike this game compared to 2003/2004. For one the weapons are more satisfying and have more oomph. The graphics are great too. Unfortunately, the graphics are too good for my PC so I have to drop all texture and world detail down to 2 with a low resolution in order to get it at a playable frame-rate. Plus, it REALLY is gears of war lovin'. Nobody can deny that. Heck even the guy on the cover looks the same as Marcus. WTH?
