We very well do. We even try to learn about humor in other countries, too. For instance, i was reading yesterday "A century worth of german humor". Shortest read ever :p

Yeah, time flies if you have a great time, like, for example, when you read "A century worth of german humor". All two pages of it. :D

we know its a joke , but this stereotype was just invented by bush and his friends...to make us go die for their oil.. thats what i pointed.

i prefer some old stereotypes like "you dont wash" "you stink" "you have a beret"

Actually, you guys have been ripe targets for pisstaking for centuries.

Do you know what sticking two fingers up at someone means?

I think the stereotypes about the French being cowardly probably stem from the world wars.

Did France get this stereotype from WW2? Yes it does. On paper france had a massive, unstoppable army. So when they were smashed by the Germans, and they lacked the morale to continue fighting and withdrew alot the french coward stereotype developed.

In actuality in defense of History, France was a powerful nation able to withstand attacks from all sides. Spain, Italy, Britain, and other nations wailed on her for centuries. yet she was able to not only withstand the attacks, but grow stronger. Lets not forget france is one of only two empires to ever conquer most of Europe (the other being the romans). Also lets not forget Franch had great religeous warriors and crusaders. Not to mention some of the finest cavalry and knights to ever exist came from southern france.

I dont mean to spoil the fun but I see anger building, not jokes. And as a history buff and eventually major, I found it necessary to inform those who are so hasty to deal out humor without knowing the history.

Willy from The Simpsons said it best, teaching French class:

"Bonjooooourrrr, ya cheese eatin' surrendermonkeys!" - Cira 1998

Note: Before getting upset, remember that Willy is Scottish. Blame it on them! :)

Funny, I had thought more people would be pissed about a sterotypical black accent. DarkBLS, the idea of this voicepack would be to poke fun, equally, at all stereotypes, from many countries. Wouldn't you conceed, then, that the "cowardly frenchman" would be on the same grounds as the "inbred redneck hick" and the "Inner city Black Guy" voice? :hmm:

Scottish Voice Pack :-
Contact - "There's one of the b@$~@rds"
Tango Down - "Stitch that!"
Acknowledged - "I, fecking heard ye, stop yer whining"
Need some backup - "Dunny bother I'll tek em all on meself"

but for the full effect you need to be pissed and we need a broken scotch bottle in the loadout ;) :D

I can't do it unfortunately as my accent has been gradually worn away, by continued exposure to the damned English and there nancy-boy-fairy-like ways :D ;)

I once visited Scotland and didn't understand nearly a word of what the tatooed taxi driver was talking about.. ofcourse I had enjoyed quite a lot of refreshments on the flight...(good old days when I flew in buisness class :) )

I wouldn't mind stereotypical and humorous voicepacks..:)
