I prefer the INF All-Star match where the All-Stars and anyone in the community is invited to participate. The Infiltration: Overmatch thing. But I don't have the time to organize people for a fun evening of INF. I'd rather sit on GD EAS and shoot bots. As for the Private Club that is ILCR, didn't you recieve your membership card and complementary balls, Odie3? :)

@Shan: Don't despair though! I'm certain those few clans in the ILCR would like a little inter-mixed match. And perhaps it would make a good video. Just because some clans won't participate and non-ILCR people can't participate doesn't mean you shouldn't hold your event! I think you should do it. Just post on the ILCR forums or on your Clan Territory forums. Like the topic states, this is an ILCR All-Star thing, not an Infiltration thing. Go for it! Gambatte!

This thread is so full of "the dark side of the force". I would delete it and start a new one. :(
(...) Now, I don't mind if you go ahead and do this "All-Star" match to pat "the best of the group on the back" (ie. Ego stroking). I'm just not fond of activities not open to the general public.
After recognising that this thread is going into a certain direction I just skipped reading certain posts, safes a lot of time. ;)

I don't think this would be a war of elitest players. I can only speak about FOOL - maybe I should start a thread in our forum so that they know about this idea  - that we don't have any elitest players. Sometimes some are damned good, but sometimes the same people suck.

There was once a european tournament where teams of four played, maximum of two people of one clan were allowed there, so we had mixed teams, it was pretty funny. :)

Limiting an ILCR Allstar game to ILCR clans and their members makes sense to me. The Harlem Globetrotters aren't participating in the NBA Allstar Game either... In the end its just a single event. Even most claners won't be involved... no need to feel excluded.

Also how would you find those AllStar players if not by nominating by their clans?

I just wonder: What is going to happen if most clans agree to send two players? It'll be something like 14 vs 14 which is hardly ILCR setting and way too much for most maps (and servers!)

Let me try to be very political here....first, Odie, I agree with your points 100%, that was my thought. People did not or could not make the committment to be in the league so they should not be upset that a league would not cator to them.

As far as the matches go, I am going to organize and host an ILCR All-star match. It will be limited to the ILCR players. The clans will select who they want...they choose what criteria they select by, not me. The details around this will be posted soon. As part of this, I will also try to get a few people together to put the movie together and manage that project to completion.

I am sorry if anyone who did not get involved in the ILCR, either due to lack of interest or lack of time feels left out. But I am basing this on the Americal Basebal All-star game and, even though there are a lot of people who can play ball, only those who play the sport professionally are invited.

That said, if anyone wants to run another match-up, feel free, I will provide the support I can to you.

I'm feeling *really* left out here, being a European in an international clan playing in the NA league. And I too don't hold with this idea of an all-starts match. Inf is about teamwork, and if you put the best players from different clans onto the same team, I don't think it's likely that the teamwork will benefit.

There never was a world series or allstars game for the world, now was there? *facetious shove*

Essentially, the point is to promote Infiltration. Do we want Infiltration promoted? Yes.

Baseball's final match is called the World Series even though all matches are played exclusively in the United States. Why? The majority of players--good players--are in the United States. From the Red Sox, Pedro Martinez, Manny Ramirez, and David Ortiz all, to my recollection, arrived from the Dominican Republic to the UNITED STATES.

Infiltration, as I understand it, is a bit different. We have mostly Canadian, American, and European players (majority from Germany).

So you see, in baseball, America was the world. The Infiltration Community is a bit bigger.

Proceed with the match. ;)

Crowze, if you put the best players on each clan on a team and they *don't* use teamwork, then I would argue that the clans did not choose the best players.

And do not feel left out, my intention is to support a NA and Euro league, and I am 100% open to a NA vs. Euro match at the end.

But Viper is right, the end point is to promote Infiltration. Everyone playing the match will know that there are demorecs being made and it is important they show the best they have....this is why I beleive it will encourage the teams to get together and practice and Odie or I can make a practice server available to the teams if they need it.

In the end this is all for fun, let's not take it too seriously. No reason for people to get offended, feel slighted or feel left out. It made sense to me to base this around the ILCR for the reasons of simplicity (much easier to have clans send two players than fight an debate over who the top 16 players are then have another debate over how to split them up). Second, I feel the ILCR represents the players that have shown a committment to the game, to using teamwork and represent the core community. I may be wrong, but that is my story and I am sticking to it. :)

Because the person who came up with the idea was a writer for an American newspaper called "The World", thus they named it "The World Series". Most of the good American players came from the dominican anyway.

Oh, and by the way, Canadians play in it too :p

Run the All Star match. You pretty well have all the good suggestions already so you can set somthing up. SDS in some form would have particapted in the leaque but due to an internal problem things got messed up. Not Shanes problem or the teams that particapted but ours. Why should I be in a leaque all star event in something that I was not in?

Set it up and run it. After that lets discuss another event. more open to the community.

No matter what you do someone is going to fell left out and there is not a whole ot you can do about that.

I tried to get this going near the end of 2.86 but the thread was lost when the forums crashed a while back. It looks like you are getting more support with it this time, which I am glad to see.

I think it should just be something to promote ppl to start playing and maybe reward some of the guys who invest a lot of time into the game they love. While I stopped playing INF, I still hope this ends up happening for the community.

It is going to happen, but it will not be until after the ILCR is over. In probably a month, I will ask the clans to provide their amabassadors and then put together the teams. Each team will vote to select a map. Two matches will be played, one on each map. A map of the communities choosing will be the tie-breaker, if needed.

FYI, the plan will be to do an NA and Euro match. Ideally we will get enough players for 8 vs. 8, but will do smaller if we must. After the matches are done, if the players are up to it, we will have the teams vote to create a new team for each side and do a Euro vs. NA match.

I am also hoping we can get the all-star teams to come together on a Friday and do a vs. the community match-up.
