Well i think the euros will have a slight advantage in any NA vs Euro match regardless of ping cause we at NA are used to all the new mutators which alter game play slightly while those damn euros REFUSE to conform to the new cool muators.

Yeah, that helps. Insult the people you need to get this match going. Nice.

@NTKB: It's called the Old World for a reason :)

Personally I don't like All-Star matches because they are by definition, elitist. Bunch of super players with big egos clashing in a virtual arena, while the not-so uber people twiddle their thumbs on the side. That said, I think a music video of the match would be nice. I'm just not to keen on the exclusivity part of the arrangement.

Best of luck to you INFers.

P.S. Now, a Infiltration: Overmatch event would be more fun to me. The All-Stars get a 5 man team and they play against 15+ players of the "normal" variety. That way, everyone gets to play. So the INF Pros get to test their mettle against a horde of weekend warriors in EAS in the similar manner as Covert Ops groups against indigenous forces. :p

I guess you are refering to Shan's post. Be assured he is probably the last one to be seriously offensive to anyone around here...

That sounds like an interesting idea to do in addition, only that the amount of average players is way more than any server can handel (maybe the amount of interested average players still is)

I wouldn't do one player for every team, give each team like 6 votes (the teams can decide how to allot their votes) and the team is the six people who get the most votes

Haha.

Did I anywhere mention your name? How did you come to the conclusion that I was talking to you? Seems you somehow yourself came to the conclusion I was talking about you and that you believe your own post could be seen as insulting. I rest my case.

No, Nukeproof, I wasn't referring to Shan's post.

OK *******, first of all your post was right after mine, second of all everyone here knows I am very sarcastic. So until you know people and STOP categorizing people and thinking everyone is uniform and the same personality go screw yourself. There. Now you got an offensive post. SEE THE DIFFERENCE?

Well, it seems the shoe DID fit after all.

I should stop categorizing people? You were the one telling everyone every European is the same with your "Those damn Europeans". It's like saying Asians are stupid because you know a guy from China who is a dumbass. So stop telling me to stop categorizing people, because I'm not.

Now, let's get back on topic, shall we? I mean, if that's okay with you, NTKB?

I think it would be pretty unneccesary to have a all-star match without people from Europe playing. It would be like cancelling the olympics to play local soccer game. I assume the standard ILCR rules would apply to an all-star match.

I guess the saying "When idiots run out of arguments they turn to fist fighting" is true after all. You want to talk about contamination? You should try reading your own posts. If that was your idea of a "hazing" you really need to work out something better. If it was an attempt to scare me away, it didn't work. It's going to take a lot more than swearing and writing with leet and big letters to do that. Obviously. I'm still here.

Anyways. if an all-star match is going to happen, I think we should get a few basic things in place first :

1. Which servers will be played on.
2. Serversettings (mutators, timelimits and such).
3. Which maps to play.
4. The basic winning/losing/draw conditions.
And the ever so important : Who will play? Who will pick the players if 50 sign up? Which requirements will the players have to meet?

I'm sure there's more.

I think the intial post of this thread covers up most of your questions. And in fact ILCR settings would be used, or maybe if the clans - or the teams - would agree on a special set of mutators then those mutators would be chosen.

Not that i should feel concerned about such a match, but i think NA will have a huge advantage on euros if you allow teamspeak : NA all speak the same language, so teamplay will be easy ; this is not the case for many euros that don't necessarily speak english fluently.

I think that is hardly true. NA != USA

thanks for keeping that in mind
