Hi All,

I got to thinking, after a comment Lt.Smash made and looking at a video recorded and edited by NTKB and Derelan, about something that I think would be really cool.

How about, after the ILCR is over, we have an All-Star match. I was thinking it would go like this.

There would be one each for NA and Europian clans.

Each clan that participated in the ILCR would send two of their players (that played in at least 1 ILCR match) to the all-stars. Two teams would be formed, one player of each clan on either side, and a match would be played on the map that the clan leaders agreed to by vote in the forums.

Two people would be allowed to spectate the match and do DemoRecs and someone could come back later and make a highlight reel that could be posted by the Inf Team to show the best of Infiltration to perspective players.

Either Odie or Myself could host a game server, and we can create a Teamspeak channel for the teams to use during play.

Personally, I think it would be awesome to have the match. The video would be the icing on the cake.

What do you all think?

Sounds like a great idea, also I'd personally stick closer to the NBA example:

East vs. West translates into Euro vs. NA (to emphasise this beloved rivalry ;))

And maybe Allstars should be voted by all ILCR players

Perhaps an NA vs. NA and EU vs. EU All-stars match followed by a World Series match made up of the best 8 from either side going against each other.

And I think the clan members have a better idea of who the best representatives of their clans are, so my opinion is that they should send their own people rather than an ILCR-wide vote.

Awsome idea! WE can do NA vs euro very easy: One match in an NA server, one in a euro server, and whoever does better the final match that counts towards the win will be on whatever team did betters server.

Not that i should feel concerned about such a match, but i think NA will have a huge advantage on euros if you allow teamspeak : NA all speak the same language, so teamplay will be easy ; this is not the case for many euros that don't necessarily speak english fluently.

...

And after the All-Stars match and the World Series, we could have a congragulatory home-run derby, and all the losers could run the bases :p

But on a serious note, shouldn't this have been posted in the clan territory forums?

Why not Cleeus?

On the Teamspeak thing...the World Match was not in my original plans. Personally I think the best way would be NA vs. NA and EU vs. EU. If EU did not want to use Teamspeak in their matches, that would be fine.

Anyhow, I will work on getting this organized. Expect a link soon for more details.

Also, everyone please note that this is not an ILCR League activity. Don't want anyone to think I am speaking on their behalf. I am not. I would welcome their involvement, however.

I LOVE this idea, it'd be great for recruiting...

This video may be the very thing to tide me over till the bonus material is released!

This IS a GREAT idea, and I'm foaming at the mouth to get my hands on it. The main reason why is I'm an offline player, and it'd be great to see what a game looks/plays like in a player versus player scenarios, because, as we all know, the bots don't lean, and they don't think too well either, lol. Now, I realize that the BEST way to see what a human vs. human game looks/plays like is by actually playing in an ONLINE match, but...

I don't know how many players are out there like me who'd LOVE to play online but who have life commitments that make such an endeavor difficult to do. I'm the kind of guy that wouldn't feel right about not being able to commit to doing something that requires the ability to closely keep scheduled meeting times. But I would LOVE to be able to do this someday. Hopefully SOONER than later. :(

For the most part, this community has great rapport on the forums, and I could only imagine how nice it must be online. Until one of these nice people killed me, that is. ;)

So, I hope that this video becomes a reality. It'd be a GREAT recruiting tool to get people to play the game in general, of that I'd be sure. And it'd probably draw people to the clan that kicked the most butt.

I'd like to suggest game types other than just deathmatch. I think it'd be fascinating to watch an EAS match, especially on maps such as Iraq, Mostar, Railbridge and Tuscany. Stalingrad and/or Ruin would be my top pick for deathmatch and DTAS, as would any of Angelheart's maps. I can't think of the one map he made that had the auto garages, and the club that had the horrible music bug that causes a awful racket when you get too close to it, but that map ("Inner City?") is just very immersive and convincing. I think all if not most of his maps are available from here:

Angelheart's maps tend to have pretty poor offline game play in regards to bots, as the routing seems inadequate (his best routed map, imo, is 2019). BUT they are a BEAUTY to behold, and in matches where it's just human teams versus human teams, well, the only issue to consider in regards to using them is how they actually play with intelligent opponents. I'd certainly like to see that with my own two eyes.

And I definately feel that RealAim v.3, the Community Weapons Pack 1, Bullet Sounds 4 should be the muts that are used. The high def. tracers may want to be turned off, but they sure do catch the eye. IF bots are to be used for some of the matches, then I'd make sure that the ProtoBots are enabled, in which case I'd suggest also using my bot speed mod that I made so that they don't rocket around the map like the usually do (I guess you could call that a "shameless plug." ;)

Yes, indeed, I am most certainly looking forward to seeing this worthwhile and rewarding endeavor becoming a reality. I don't even care if the file weighs in at over 100MB, as I'd certainly download that baby no matter what.

Who knows, if it's good enough, I may even find it impossible to resist jumping online to teach you guys a lesson! A lesson in what, I don't know, but I'm sure you'd learn something!

Yours!
:)

I really don't understand the concern about ping. It will be one match with good ping and one match with worse ping for both teams. Equal terms for both teams.
