god you people this is far from a joke, am i the olny one tired of this realism crap played out yea inf is suppose to be about real battle but for god sakes you can run and gun if you have to and as for the bar hipping i guess you never had the skills to do it and trust me you dont know what you missing. its becomming just like all thease WW2 games that keep reprducing the same crap. and dont give me that bull that if you dont like it dont play it, i use to love inf the whole community was a very lose fun atomsphere now it seems untight and crap.

maybe you should use periods so your sentance makes sense so that we might be able to follow what you are saying so we can decide on our own opinions and maybe make some sense you cant run and gun if you have to have you ever tried its hard im sure spending more than just a few hours a day infront of a computer screen doesnt help any I guess I have no skillz though because learning stuff and practicing up on team play and communication is so much easier than pressing WSAD in different combos while tapping jump and fire OMFG OLOLZersZ11!one!

I invented the hipped robar shooting. I didnt do it cause I wanted too, I did it cause with my slow ass comp I used to have I could only snipe without my FPS dropping to 10. So I got real good with the Robar hipped. This was wayyy before naughty. To see that you guys are actually doing this intentionally is sad. But to each his own. I must say turn your naughty server into a 2.86 one and you can Robar hip away.

I think all the releases of INF provide a broad enough scope to make anyone happy, and if not like was mentioned before theres myriads of other games out there. Leave ours (realism freaks) alone damnit!

Isn't the O.P.'s post kinda like coming to an American football game and demanding that the game be played according to Rugby (or some other game for that matter) rules because that's what they prefer? Wouldn't it make more sense to go and play the game that most closely fits to what you want?

/shrug. This just doesn't make much sense to me from a logical standpoint. I'm not saying that no one has a right to prefer something other than what INF currently is, but jeez, its not like they have strayed from what their original intentions were (A realistic shooter) or deceived their fans by promising run n' gun and delivering *OMG!!* realism. Realism was their intention all along. Maybe you did not know this and this comes as a surprise to you, but.....

All I'm saying is that you have no basis for an argument if you knowingly walk into an Italian cafe, expecting to get Chinese food and are told that they do not serve it. Sure, it is your preference to have Chinese food if you want, but you'd have to take your "Ass" to a place that serves it.

Yurch picked up Robar hipping in all of about 10 minutes. And soon, all of us ont eh beta team were doing it like pros (none quite like yurch however, but then again, he's far from human). It was laughable, so it got canc'ed.

Snooze fest? Perhaps. But if thats the way you feel, it truly, and utterly is certainly the wrong game for you. An all balls out firefight is great fun, but getting to that point, and hoping you can set up ambush points in time, so that you don't take too many casualties, so, in turn, you can utterly hand your enemy a crushing defeat, well, that's where inf is at.

There were a couple of clans that played the previous version rather willy nilly style, much to our amusement, often. And more often than not, that's what had shown us what *not* to do when the dev team cracked their whips over our shoulders.

well yurch, thats cause its no different to shoot hipped than while aiming because all they did was say, uh, lets just zoom in on the crosshair. (agh crosshairs, i cant believe i hate them now lol.)

Last time I checked the AWP didn't have a crosshair. Plus, it's got a conefire while moving, so it's quite similar to the robar.

yeah, I can't remeber any crossair while hipped with the AWP... that's why we put a red dot on the center of our screen when we played CS lol.... that was lame (but effective)

Ass I hear your frustration. I too think that 2.9 kind of took the fun out of 2.86. I think inf lost the majority of the community cause of this. I'm not here to bash....But I think the run and gun of inf is what made this game that much more fun. And if its the direction of SS to make this game a more realistic game..that's cool but imo the whole concept of this slow pace, old engine, objective match thing will drive more people away from this because there are far too many games out there that are so much better with this whole concept..example: America's Army. I know you guys heard this many times and sounds like a broken record. And I know making this version took alot of time... so i'm not one to sit here and knock it down.
I hope that in the future if there are any plans for another version..you bring back the fun back into inf which I think would bring back ALOT of people playing again.... IF not that's cool...cause there are many games out there that would drive me a new addiction. Oh yea when 2.86 came out my wife almost left me ..ROFL.
As for Ass and the others that enjoy the old version...find a way to change your 2.9 server back to 2.86 and i'm sure people would play that again. I know I would and about a 6 other C7C's would also.

Do NOTtake this personal... it goes for many others...Last time I checked 2.86 still existed... I even got the installer somewhere on my HD. Saying that 2.9 took the fun out of 2.86 is like saying that your new girlfriend took the fun out of you Ex. Damnit, if you don't like the new one, go back to the old one (even if it's just for an evening here and there). Why is this SO difficult for you guys to understand.

I have no problem with "I prefer 2.86 over 2.9" comments, but don't start with that "2.9 took the fun out of 2.86 ****". You know, I still play Quake 1... and Quake 2.... and Quake 3... all three are as fun as they where on their release! Why? because I do the minimal effort to play them.

No one EVER forced ANYONE to play 2.9. I gave you guys a few solutions to play 2.86 like "in the so beloved old times". I hope this will get in your heads some day.

Man CHILL out...Like I said I didnt post to bash..forums are to express your thoughts. I have'nt visited these forums in awhile so me saying 2.86 is better than 2.9... its just my opinion and not here to start any BS up. I stated that if people like the old version..put up a server and go play it. I think im entitled to express my thoughts on what I thought which direction should this game go if another version was due to come out. After all I played MANY HOURS a week for a couple of yrs. If inf dies..i would miss it but would not loose any sleep over it. It was fun for the ride.
