"Esc menu"+ 'Save last checkpoint'. Checkpoint tend to fail saving when you quit the game without saving them (wich doesn't make any fucking sense by the way). And no matters how you make them, checkpoint still sucks. If you really want to limit my ability to save the game in order to artificially make the game longer... I meant make the game more interestng and challenging ( ), then give a limited number of saves.

Anyway, Halo would've been a good game two years ago. But far from a 'game of the year' contender even back then. Well, for PC that is. I just get bored of killing the same 8 kind of ennemy (if there's even eight of them) over and over again in the same level.

*Shrug* It's not Halo's fault if you lack the skill required to survive a 60 second skirmish without quick-saving every five seconds.

Thanks for the insult :)
Checkpoint are usually (and by usually, I mean always) more then 60 seconds away. As far as lacking the skills, sometime I just don't fell like playing trough the same boring 5 minute long portion of the game 10 times while I could avoid it easily if they bothered making a decent saving fonction. But you said yourself that you didn't play the PC version of the game, so unless you can prove that every save point (and the game's difficulty level) is exactly the same on XBOX and PC, then I'm pleased to say that your opinion isn't worth shit in this thread.

Sorry to displease you, but yes, the checkpoints are the same. I've not personally played the full version of the game, but it doesn't take much effort to ask my friends about it. They played the Xbox version religiously, so I would consider their opinions to be worth the "shit" you have spoken of. I apologize if I just ruined your excuse.

As for the difficulty, it is, as I'm sure you noticed, scalable. If you are having trouble, simply play on the easiest setting; where you can practically CS rush every alien in the game with the machine gun and take little damage. If that is still too difficult, I'd recommend you stick to playing Bingo with the old black women.

My Mormon buddy says "sop whinning. if you're good enough you won't need the quick save." You'll have to pardon his typing--he's from Utah.

So you like checkpoints; I hate them. Weeee! for difference.

Still doesn't change the fact that it's an outdated game both graphically and gameplay wise (alright, it has interesting vehicles, but unfortunately they don't play enough of a role to make the SP game worth playing or make you forget about the awful MP map design).

It's not like if I payed for this game anyway...

OICW, I don't have the demo, but from a thread on the official forums, someone says that the "Load" function (once you choose 'new' in the main menu) is greyed out and that 'continue' start the game over again. So either they didn't include working checkpoint in the demo or there's probably a bug.

Heh, I actually agree with you on that much. The game itself sucks, and I hate it. :)

SaraP: Would you like some shrimp Etouffee? I made too much. We should all have a potluck. I'll bring my dirty-looking Negro food, and Hadmar can bring funny-smelling German food and, and Freon can bring oyster butts or whatever other silly crap the French eat, and Dank can bring "brownies," and Keg can bring pizza, and NTKB isn't invited, and Ice can bring ramen noodles and you can bring something that definitely isn't shaped like a phallus.

You need a 32MB card that can do hardware T&L; the X-Box itself is a 700 MHz machine with a customized, hotted-up GeForce2 chipset that's about as fast as a low-end GeForce3.
**** Off!!!
I have a GeForce 2 which is dodgy and has 16mb ram. It is an MX 400.

And its more than playable - by no means really smooth, but very playable none the less.

Now, what I did was you know where the dude witht eh sword comes out??

Well I drove 2 jeeps down there, blocking the door where he comes out.

They owned his ass :D:D

You don't get it, do you?

If you have any 32 MB card that can do T&L, you can play the game. If you've got a GeForce3 or a hotted-up GeForce2, you can pretty match the X-Box's performance, although X-Box quality looks crappy on a PC. If you've got a current-generation or second-to-current generation card, you can max out the options and it's quite good looking. Not as good as the latest PC games, but still good.

Your post came across as "If your card is not 32MB, you cannot play the game"

I have a _16MB_ Card, I can play the game.

Basically, I am lower than the min spec, and Its very playable.

I even got this warning say "you shouldn't be playing this game with your spec"

About your post, though; isn't the GF2MX400 a 64MB card? I don't recall any GeForce line ever being released with 16MB.

Ah, now this is a long (not really) story.

Pull up a seat and get comfortable.

I searched and searched for my GF2 Card (all the rage then) and almost every shop was sold out, so I grudgingly went to PC World. I payed £80 for it, even thought it was £70 elsewhere.

It on the box was a GeForce 2 MX400 32 MB

I took it home, _took it out of the bag_ and got everything ready to put it in. At this point, I discovered that I did not have an AGP slot.

I took it back and they told be to get lost because I had taken it out of the bag (yes!). I didn't know my rights then, so didn't demand a refund, so it sat in the box in my closet for a while.

Now, I put it in my new computer, complete with 433Mhz Processor and AGP equipped Mobo, and it registered 16mb RAM. Okay... I checked the manual - it said that the min requirements for the card was a 500Mhz+ processor. Dumb as I was, I thought this was the cause, and left it untill about 4 months later I got the processor.
It was a 1Ghz PIII - Well with in the system requirements.
It still registered (even in the card's bios) as 16MB, so I thought about taking it back.

Now, this was about 6 months later, and lo and behold, the god damn gaurantee had run out, and I had totally lost the reciept.

And thats the story of my Magical graphics card. If I had the reciept (or some other proof of purchase) I would take it back or go to trading standards.

But I don't.
