I've got my preload done, on my shitty-shit-shit internet provider. :D

I think it's going to be hard to get me out of my room after Tuesday. :p

my machine should be able to run the thing @ 1080 pretty close to 60 frames.

I know people who have been rebuilding their rigs to handle the game @ 4K.
but I'm really not prepared to spend my way there yet.

I'm really excited for this, but...steam sale excited. I already beat it and played it to hell and back when it released on the 360, and while I'll definitely be picking it up again, I'm waiting for it to drop below $40. Still, a little jealous of you folks.

That's a shame. You folks can find me on steam as Vaskadar. Different profile pic, obviously, but it would be fun to shoot some shit with you guys.

I understand, but that's exactly what I did.

obviously IV was a clusterfuck on release day, but it was also quickly remedied.
Rockstar has specifically addressed that issue on more than one occasion during PC development on V and have convinced me that such an episode won't be repeating itself. I've been following this a lot more closely than I was following PC development on IV.

but I preordered IV and I've also preordered V this time around.
Rockstar may have cocked one up, but overall their track record is pretty awesome in my book.

I must be one of the few people that had no problems with IV whatsoever, brought it the day it came out and everything worked great.
Wasted hundreds of hours just exploring every nook and cranny of Liberty City. :)

well to be fair, GTA IV worked just fine for me, too.

the issue is that it was a ridiculous experiment in unnecessary bloatware.
the game worked great once you actually got to it. after logging in to 2 different online services and installing their Social Club even if you were never going to use it. they scrapped all of it. and they don't plan on using it for GTAV. but it was an undeniable blunder.

True.
I just hope they don't use Games For Winblows Live for the Steam version this time...that would suck.

edit: Just read it unlocks at midnight UK time so US players can play it from tonight.

That's a relief. thx :p
Loving this GTX970...just fired up dying light and set everything to max including draw distance and didn't drop below 70fps...even on the bridge with hundreds of zombies.
My old gtx670 used to lag on the bridge at 50% draw distance and medium details. :)
