And exploring/surviving in the wilderness is the essence of the game.

It's too bad some people will only follow the main story and go 'that was it? Bethesda makes **** games' because they can't make their own decisions about where to go and what to do so they just follow the MQ.

Like those people who badmouth Morrowind becuase they couldn't understand they had free-reign in where to go right from the moment you step into Seyda Neen.

I just finished the main quest by mistake :(
The main quest needs to be longer meh. If I had known that was going to be the last mission I would have put it off for a while... gah

Ugh, I did the same thing last night. I was under the belief that I was still only halfway through when I started that quest.

The worst thing about it is that the game literally ends regardless of the choice you make. I even asked Fawkes, whom I had with me, but the bastard refused. He said he wouldn't rob me of my destiny, but seeing as I had refused prior to asking him...that didn't make much sense.

After having spent nearly 70 hours on it so far, that was one of the most anti-climatic endings I've ever experienced.

I did the same ting with Fawkes and was equally annoyed. I guess with Mutantism comes a mystical sense of psychic destiny!

I was doing some side quests and I find somone who knows where my dad ran off to and I sorta got thrown back onto the main story line.

I'm going to play through again and do more side quests. It's certainly not like Fallout where you are given no direction on where to go next.

It was nice to see that you can still talk the primary villains into killing themselves.

Yesterday I found Lincoln's Repeater. I'm level 19 and I guess that tells I'm not exactly following whatever is the expected order one 'usually' explores the world. Anyway, I decided to break it in by using it to remove the slavers from you-know-which memorial. I think that was pretty fitting.

Heh, I only found two, too. I guess I could break into a few homes and possibly find a few that way but I'm basically Buddha-Jesus and that would be out of character.

I had a level 18 evil do-er with an appetite for human flesh. And then my pc decided to crap out on me and I had to do a new Windows installation. I started over with Fallout and I just left the vault again, this time as a female character. Does playing as a female change anything in the storyline? (Besides the obvious he/she changes and the blackwidow perk)

Yeah, your chosen sex makes no difference.

Re: Bobbleheads,
There's one in your Dad's office that you're supposed to get when you're 10. The good news is apparently you can return to vault 101 later in the game & I assume retrieve it then

Re: Re: Bobbleheads.

You can get the bobblehead on dad's desk when you escape the vault, and yes when you return to the vault for that side-mission (I did). There is the one in Raven Rock too, which you can only get one point in the game, but that might be because I blew up Eden.

I just delivered 'my' Stradivari. Coolest payment I ever got in this game!
Eternal gratefulness from an old lady. Just did that mission today. Of course, as it happens to me not exactly rarely, I already found the location and the instrument before I ever meet her.

Also found Dogmeat at level 20. I guess I'll try to time a few things differently when I replay it. :D

So what is going to happen with the SDK and the community? Rarely have seen a RPG get extra content for the actual game itself by releasing tools, I'm going to guess people will make mods if they love the engine? Otherwise why you'd want a SDK for this game?
