To give you the picture:

Although we knew it for 5-6 weeks it took us loads of efforts to get proof. We did uncounted demorecs and digged up all kinds of tools to get more evidence.

Actually the public accusations (about one week after we started investigating) almost spoiled the whole endeavour...

And we had to play all those hopeless wars vs. a lineup of 50% cheaters week after week, which pretty much sucks...

Wow - okay. lets step back. Duke/Taque are the ones that violated us. We are all victims at different levels here.

Let us not go at each other - go after Duke/Taque and perhaps any other MVP's [if there are any].

Reason number 2 for not to saying crap in public. Do no let them on to you that you might be on to them. Or they will go out into hiding.

AFAIK it was Duke who coded and he cheated, i hope that the community wont make the IMT bad and declare them as a bunch of cheaters....

Duke abused our trust in him and so he should be ashame and leave us...

I fear that any new Mutator wont come on the servers, because evryone could set a hack in it...and the Serveradmins fear to allow them cheating on thier servers.

We have to stay together and trust in each other otherwise this game will be REALLY dead soon

What Duke and Taque did is unexcusable and it has consequences to the whole community.. Do net let us cause distrust each other!!!

For the record. I offered to the IMT to take part in the "code cleaning" opperation so we can re-release the IMT weapon pack asap. I will start today.

It would be nice if a 3rd party, neutral, coder took part into this, at least to go through the code once it has been rewritten and "approve it". Someone like Beppo, Cleeus or Yurch. If someone could volounteer for that, it would be really really appericiated. I know that not a fun and easy task...

In defense of my comment: None of us had the means to convey what we saw (it took intense surveillance and special programs, not to mention access to the actual code to prove this), but I have confidence in saying the DbD members have logged in enough hours of gaming to tell when someone is hacking and when they are not. And as I read the comments in this thread, I haven't read one "Wow, am I suprised!" comment from any other member of the INF community. Regardless, I apologise for my comment seemed out of line (probably is, doesn't mean I wouldnt stand by it). Lets leave it at "told you so."

Agreed. So, I'm curious...what is the fallout from this incident? I mean, kicking them out of the INF community, we lose two really good coders (they've gotta be to pull something like that), which are a rare breed in a small community like this. Also, we lose WP 1.2, which also kind of sucks...

...but hey, at least it gives you guys a chance to make that FN-FAL a little more useful, eh? ...Eh? ...EH?

Omg... I am speachless.........

I don't know what to say, a big part of me always wanted to believe that Duke, Taque, and players like them were honorable. But this, not only cheating but misusing our trust to turn the Weapon Pack into a Trojan horse is despicable.

I want to give a big big shout out to N1 clan for collecting this proof. It looks like it took a lot of time and hard work to eliminate any doubt, but it was worth it. Even though this is a huge blow to the INF community, thanks to you guys we can start to recover.

I also want to say that this situation highlights the fact that accusations of cheating should be kept private until there is enough evidence collected to bury the cheater. Public threats and accusations only give the cheater early warning allowing them to remain undetected.

well.... i am speechless! Although i had some suspicions offcourse, if u play online often with one of them you just "know" something wasn't right..

anyway, i feel sick, sick of the words i said whenever i was killed by duke again... sick of the discussions with ppl about duke or taque... sick of even defending taque from aqcuisations by my own teammates, thinking that cheating in inf was impossible.... and also SICK because it has affected our small community BIGTIME!
