Still, I wonder why they got banned fromt the forums... I asked the "people in charge" about it and still didn't get a reasonable answer. "Someone asked for it" is not an acceptable reason to ban someone... or maybe it should be written in the forum terms of agreement that people could be banned without warning from these forum at the discression of the moderators and admin. You'd make a good addition to the bush administration if you start runnings things like that.
I honnestly have to disagree with this ban from the BUF because no forum rules have been broken. Banning people because they have an opinion that differs with yours is very irritating to me.

You must understand that duke is the only one who has most of the files we need to compile new versions of the weapons. I never really agreed to this way of working in the first place but that's how things where done. But now, if duke doesn't send over these files (which include skeletal model and animations and stuff like that), I am sorry to say there probably won't be a new weapon pack, although we were very close to one.
I am very disapointed at the way the forum adminstrator/owners managed this situation. First banning someone because a stupid dickhead said there was a virus in a file when in fact there was none and then banning both of them, because they feel it would be better for all of us or something. I feel almost as sick as I felt when neabit first posted this. As we said in that other thread in Off topic yesterday... better safe than sorry. Shoot first, ask later. Way to go. I do understand the nifty and universal argument that "Posting here is a priviledge, not a right"... I always find it amazing when people hide their actions behind rules like this one. Especially after seeing their posts in Off topics. In french i would say "Un poid, deux mesures". This place is a public forum. I think there is an ethical way to behave for both administrators and users on such a forum. If you want to start working like that, you'd better start calling it a Private Club... or even start working with invitations only.
But of course, this doesn't change the fact they should both be indefinitely banned from every game server we know about. No question there. Ok, i'm rolling off topic so lets get back to the real problem...Now. At this point it would be very difficult for me to keep asking Taque to help me get in touch with Duke and get the files we need. I don't really see how I could do that or even go out and ask duke for the files directly and I especially do not see now why he should accept. I would have given out the files if I where in his place, but after getting banned from these forums, without a reason or a warning, no.
Well, I guess i have to thank you, no i can concentrate my work on RealTargets and forget the weapon pack.
Sorry Burger, but I the only answer I can give you at this point is "not comming at all".

I entirely agree Geo. They should be banned from INF servers, but I don't see why they should be banned from the forums. Hell I don't even see why so many people bothered insulting them. I was rather glad when I read the first post because people actually worked together to find proof of something they suspected. Rather than to whine away. Then people started whining again... Meh.

No, the first file did not contain a virus. If it did, then I didn't find it, nor anyone else I asked to look into it... and I am still waiting for Harrm to prove that there was indeed a virus in that files, what virus it was exactly and how it is propagated. I don't expect an answer any time soon from him.

Seems my computer regarded a file I downloaded from a SomethingAwful Forums torrent as a virus at about the same time I downloaded Duke's file. Being a dumbass, instead of checking what the file was I nuked all my downloads.
User error; it's an honest mistake. I apologise. My bad.

A) Rogers IPs aren't static. Provided you leave your modem/computer on all the time it will remain the same, but they don't like you doing that As I understand it there's a pool based on your area, and your NIC gets assigned one from the pool, until you disconnect, and someone else gets assigned it. Very easy to change if you know what you're doing.
B) Yes I'm with Rogers, but guess what Rogers also owns some 69.* IPs (like the one I’m currently on.) I’m sure all the server owners talk to each other so it wouldn’t be hard to get my IP out there, but what about some random noob who wants to play? Does he get kicked just for being on Rogers and in the Eastern Time zone? Does no one else see how retarded that would be?
