Duke and the Donkey of Troy...

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

maybe all code for muties and such should be published on a webpage for public auditing before being admitted on any servers.

On face value it looks good but anyone knowing enough about coding to see problems knows enough on how to extract the code from the .u files anyways which takes a whole few seconds to do.

Yeah, if you really want to read the code, just open it in Unrealed. Perhaps someone could write a detailed tutorial for the complete newbies out there on how to get to the code?

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Those who can understand the code know how to extract it. that simple.

I could post my whole RealTargets code, but chances are that if you do not know how to extract it in the first place, you won't understand **** about it. You really need to be familiar with the whole engine and INF to trully understand what going on.

Heh, saw that demon code back a month ago

Not suprised. It's not hidded or obfuscated at all. Any coder looking at the code would have found it easily and should have been very suspicious about it.

And that confirms my point. From what you say, you can code (to some extent), yet this code didn't raise your suspicion that much, or you would have posted about it (unless you planned to use it yourself :con: ;) ). So if someone without any serious knowlege of the game looks at the same code, i doupt it would help in anyway. The only thing you would have is a situation where coders would be submerged with stupid, silly, basic and trivial questions about their code from people who, lets be honnest, have no clue. I would find it annoying, really... I can't even start to imagine all the question I would have about RT which has thousands of lines of code. And even if you are an experianced coder, going through someone else's code isn't always easy. Hell! Sometime I don't even understand my own code...

Even worse, is the suggestions you would get.

Wow Yurch has a pimpified version of Ravens Hawks avatar!
Well, in as much as a pimpified icon of rebellion can be confused with a parodic version of the nonpimpified icon, with the image of another icon of parody, yes.

Geo, I didn't as much mean "suggestions" as "people thinking they know better". :p (read: Nobody will ever agree on what mere numbers are proper)

Okay, so can weapons like the m16a4, m4a1, akms, microuzi, and beretta m93r come back already? I REALLY miss them... how long does it take to delete a few lines of code....? You don't really need to have 6 different people doing it, do you?

You guys have already made enough of a deal about someone's personal nemesis (as used in a literary sense); let's move on and play the game..please?

[edit] One of these days I'll finish reading harry potter 6 to my sister and I'll have nothing to do =( [/edit]

I don't believe it is as easy as you say. Once the lines are removed it needs some testing to be sure nothing is broke.
