Actually, in all honesty, the Doom 3 Engine isn't as performance hungry as you're all making out and as I mentioned. Infact from what I've experienced it's less demanding that Far Cry, though what I've experienced is the Alpha that was actually illegally available in the summer of 2002. On my system (spec mentioned above) it ran quite well and with it's REAL release, there will be more than likely a huge number of performance optimisations for all systems so it'll run better, not worseSmood said:Wow, the homosexuality coming from most of the guys on this board is more frightening then id's masterpiece. A lot of you criticize the engine as not being able to handle more light sources or believe that is the reason why it is dark, but keep in mind the engine can do anything as long as the hardware power is there to support. So it is not the engine that can't deliver, it is your systems. Doom 3 is very strong technology that it is ahead of its time in terms of hardware, and thus is offered in a state that computers can handle. A dark atmospheric, freaky, and all around brilliant environment.
I was always a ut'er at heart, but today I' am ashamed of those of you who act gay and do not give respect where it is due.
