To user named "Call me Erdrik":
Thank you very much!
I actually did take time and studied the web pages you posted links to.
CTF-Cathereine:
I've seen this map before. That was long ago actually. It's architecture is very beautiful. But not enough action for me there.
Now the Dark Magic looks like a very promising progect. All the DMUT maps I saw were very beautiful. I did not figure out how to change spells. I played CTF-DMUT-LostValley. Then I played CTF-DMUT-StoneForts for some time until my eyes started to hurt from excessive exposure to flashes of the screen from casting spells. And also, what is that terrible noise I hear in most of the places on those maps? I see you have a big team, are you making the maps together, or is someone doing that alone?
I liked your writing section on the
www.geocities.com/erdrik_e
site. And also the "Thoughts on Life" is an interesting section. Unliker you, I believe, that there are many Gods. But the Bible, especially the Old Testament, those versions we can easily find today, has little to do with that.
You said:
To be more precise: Someone who knew how to read and write, wrote part of the bible in order to motivate the masses to follow him.
Then another educated person, or persons, found out about this and stole his position, added to the bible, and became the new 'leader'.
And this probably continued until the bible became so well beleived that the 'leaders' began to beleive it themselves.
Well, it's a very simplified story of the Bible, but I generally agree with you that that was exactly the way it was made. Many things were created in this same way. The same is going on with those famous "hired mappers" who are creating their teaching, trying to make people follow them and repeat their every single gesture. Now it's gone too far and it's becoming a certain kind of religion in the world of map-making. And I don't want follow any religions or sects. I follow my Will and I like what my Heart and Soul feel good about. I also read the documentation. I also listen to reason and logic sometimes, but I use them only for technical tasks. That's my small incomplete description of my own creative process. I'd like to keep the secret of the details of this complicated process which no tutorials can possibly teach.
Anyway, well, I hope you're satisfied with my small research on your web sites. Do I now deserve your closer attention to the Deathmach map I enjoy playing the most.
Regards,
AlexanderII
