this looks good for someone using UE for the first time.. Do do you already have modeling Experience? I wish I knew how to make models and textures..

Erh, sure thing I cooked it. I am so sure I cooked it, because I packed the cooked file out the published folder. Clicked often on this button, really =)

My tipps for learning that stuff was a person called Neox =)
Did some stuff for wc3 earlier but they where rather... crap. I think it helps to have some background before starting modeling or mapping. I read quite many tutorials, (big up for hourences here) and some things I just knew by having played some recent games and beeing concerned about composition. I think a floorplan for a map is nothing else than a composition. I have far more painted on ps than ever modeled or mapped, but this background helped me a lot to get that. Yeah, and neox... ^^ If u got questions, just ask, I'll try to help.

I don't think I got any dynamic light actors in there. Checked some sites on optimizing, will look again at the map at time. So far, thanks for all the feedback!
Currently I'm makin some sheets for presentin the meshes. Will post them when finished.

The only reason I thought It wasn't cooked is because it didn't come with a UPK file?

Iv looked at your map in the editor.
Your trees seem to be lit in a complex way.. because if this toggleable light.. I didn't look at what it does... but yeh... its affecting everything in the static lighting channel even if its not in the cone but within its radius. get rid of them and replace them with static ones, toggleable lights are dynamic. you dont need them because you never toggle them.

thats why your maps slow, the red parts are BAD.. Hope this helps

EDIT ITS THOSE LIGHTS AND ONLY THOSE LIGHTS, if you replace all those lights you should boost about 50 frames im just guessing it may even be more.. those lights are affecting the terrain too ov cause and because you have like 20 of these lights its re renderd every frame mulitiple times before it generates the frame to your screen.

A upk file is not neccesary I think?! Isn't all the stuff packed in the map file?!

Will look at those lights soon. Thanks a lot bazz!

The dark areas look perfect for sniping or jumping out at somebody with the Hammer.:lol:

It's always nice to plan to do something!

Went over it a last time, removed my mistakes with the lights and see... fps >60. Nice one. Added some few more meshes, but nothing groundbraking. Just a last release with hopefully a good performance.

a nice autumn forest map amongst the wooded boulders at sunrise or sunset with water and only one way out…death. I like the theme, different water sounds, generator sound, lighting/shadows, flow and custom content. It needs custom music and more sounds and sometimes the screen wigs out more than normal when fragged. I played 2on2 TDM and it was fun!:lololol::rockon::shock:
