I didn't really have a definitive favorite class in D2. I played a different one each runthrough (like, 6) and had fun with all of them though.

I want more melee aoe stuff. That's always been my favorite playstyle in rpg's; just running into a horde and tearing **** up. More monsters the better. None of this "pulling" or "luring" individual mobs away crap.

oh god pre order for me too, look out for me on the news dying of exhaustion after the release :'(

shame about the gameplay trailer, why did they hire the gayest man ever to narrate it? he makes alan carr sound bearable. i keep trying to sit through it but never make it more than a minute in before i crack and turn it off.

sorceress was my favourite class, i want some paladin too though

Lets see them spew that nonsense after this game is released.

After watching the gameplay videos, I have to say that this is the first game in a Loooong time that I am truly PSYCHED for.

In fact I think this game has the oomph necessary to give PC gaming a big boost right when it needs it the most. And if anything, this IS the 'killer app' of the current generation that will get people to upgrade to at least a decent PC setup. (Not Crysis level uber, just something current gen decent.)

And I'm not sure anyone else really noticed, but check the gameplay trailer again and look at where the shortcut bar and health/mana balls are...middle of the screen. I think this shows that D3 will be a "Widescreen" game. And that regular 4:3 support will be included, but will 'encourage' people to upgrade their graphics/monitor to get the 'full experience' even if they don't upgrade their CPU.

I think Diablo 3 has a good chance at having as big an impact on gaming as GTA IV and MGS4, if not more of one.

I'm very happy to stick with my 5:4 ratio monitor thank you very much. :)

Looks like it has zooming of some kind. As such, it will probably be the most awesome isometric RPG ever. Here's to hoping it is not an MMO :)

Did you check out the 20 minute gameplay video? It most certainly looks to be sticking to it's roots, with easily digestible coop action rpg.

Anyone else dig out D2 after all this Diablo 3 talk?

My Necromancer is up to lv.13 \o/

man, i'm this close to actually doing it
i caught myself looking at the box on the shelf several times this morning and i guess it's only a matter of time until i actually install it again ;)

and i'm sooooo looking forward to diablo 3. i find that comic-like style a bit strange or rather i found it strange cause after the 20 minutes gameplay video i actually liked it

EDIT:

for you guys worrying about D3 being MMO - this is from the official FAQ on blizzard's homepage:

Will there be a single-player component in addition to multiplayer?

Yes. In addition to battling the hordes of the Burning Hells cooperatively with friends over Battle.net, players will be able to adventure through the world of Diablo III solo. More details on both the single-player and multiplayer experience will be revealed at a later date.

and imo that's really really awesome! :D

Diablo 3 does look very WoWish to be sure. :(

As long as the rest of it is up to the standards of the previous games in it's series, I'm sure that will be forgivable. After all, the graphical engine has never been the strongest point in the Diablo series...
perhaps not the graphical quality, but the dark and dire atmosphere was always there and part of what made diablo fans love the series

Titan Quest has zooming, and Mythos has zooming and rotation. your conclusion is correct, but your reasons are not!

and yeah it has been definitively stated that it's not an MMO, so don't worry
