Diabolo 3 will eat your soul, take away your lans, and force you to sodomize yourself

That my friends is the start of a phenomenal game.

Apparantly almost every major multiplayer game in existence has been designed for such "niche eventualities". I can't think of many that lack local network support.

Sorry i was talking about the present.. didn't realise what was common a few years back counts as common today, default lan support in games has been disapearing for ages now
... Actually, screw that! Barely anyone has one computer for "online" multiplayer and a whole network of other "finely tuned gaming machines" that are strictly kept away from the internet at all costs but for the purpose of multiplayer. That is Niche man! Like it or not.

The rest of us have the internet... or consoles I guess, sorry about that!

Glancing back towards the beginning of this thread, I realise that this debate with you can come to no good.

All I will say is that it seems ridiculous to have to connect to a server on another continent, in order to have a multiplayer game with someone on a PC just a few metres away, and having to suffer the side effects of that international connection such as lag, server down time, etc.

Blizz has Europe realms also man. Dont sweat it you'll be fine.

Well having to look back to see what your talking about i'd have to say the same to you mate, I left you to it in the end which is what i'll do at the end of this now you've reminded me of earlier.

I agree on your reason that it's ridiculous. As i said earlier, good reasons kind of exist but the lan only devices was hardly a good one you could expect a games developer or anyone else to care much for and would hardly be an obstacle you couldn't compensate for in about 1-2 minutes worth of work.

Yes but do they have NZ realms, and even if they did, are they gonna pay our government to install fibre optic cabling so that the 'broadband' in my city isn't unbearably slow? See, there are a bunch of other factors that you guy's take for granted... :D

I don't think those realizations are beyond anyone in this thread. It's a shame features get cut form games sure but if you really liek the game you compensate for it. I mean... we're all UT players right?
