Need a little help guys. I'm trying to save some $$$. This is my current build. The only place I see where I can save some dough is with the GPU and the case. I really don't want to sacrifice on the case, and the most I'll save on the GPU is $25. These are the video cards I'm looking at. Any thoughts on going superclocked versus that lowest-priced one with less cores? Oh, there is also a less-expensive MSi board that I was looking at, but it is only 8.5 inches wide (the eVGA cards are 8.25 inches long) and with only one PCIe 2.0 X16 slot. I've read that many GPUs have trouble fitting over the SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports and that the board only has 4 fan headers. However, going with that board would save me $50. Oh, and one other thing, there's a $20-off code for the RAM, so the total price is that much less, before minor shipping costs.

This would be my choice!

EVGA GeForce GTX 460 SE (Fermi) 01G-P3-1366-TR Video Card
Was: $162.99 Now: $144.99 $114.99 with Rebate Free Shipping

There is no need to buy a Superclocked card! The few extra frames you gain wouldn't be noticeable anyway.

I agree. If you're trying to save a few bucks that should be an okay compromise. I wouldn't change boards. Although I think the card would still fit fine, I wouldn't chance it. Are the fans in the Lian-Li 3-pin or 4? You'll most likely only use the fan header for the CPU heatsink. The rest will probably just plug into the power supply. But still... I'm not a fan of skimping and cutting corners. If it's that much of a concern, wait for one more paycheck and then get the original build.

EDIT: And after our short conversation via text yesterday I figured I'd bring this to your attention:

SATA 6.0Gb/s drive for 5 dollars LESS (the same after shipping charges) than the 3.0 you have picked out there. Same storage space. Here.

It's $5 less because it only has 16mb cache instead of 32mb cache. I'm not sure if this makes a difference, considering the data transfer speed. Also, I'm actually considering paying ~$10 more for a mobo that's of a newer build (P67 series).

I'm a doofus. Boney, the board you originally showed me (which I still have in my build) is a P67 board, however, it is classified as their GD55. Tom's Hardware tested a GD65, which is basically the same, though it has an additional 2 SATA 6.0 Gb/s inputs (4 Sata 6 + 4 Sata 3). So, my question is: is it worth the extra $10 to have those two inputs?

[EDIT] Make that, extra $15.

Date Nite with the Ice Man.. Sweet

Just so you know you don't have to bring your Monitor.
Bring your OS and any other Software you want to load.
Your Keyboard and Mouse would be helpful as well.
