OK, looks like I didn't need the adapter tray after all for the SSD. I'm pretty much done now. Waiting on my Blu-Ray drive and HDD to get here to wrap it up.

Left the protecting stickers on it for now. Only need to plug in the vid card and power to get it started :)

How are the 120mm fans arranged on the Heatsink? Does 1 Blow Air in while the other is exhaust? If so which way is it exhausting towards the rear case exhaust fan?
Like in the attached..

Boney, is right that case makes the Mobo look tiny.. Heatsink also makes it look tiny..

Well. Parts arrived yesterday. Unfortunately, they attempted delivery while I was at work. Since they were shipped with UPS, the damn place closes at 6h30 and I got home at 7h00. End result, no parts for me this week-end so no test drive for the new comp >: (

It's in the plans. Next time I decide it's time for a fresh start. I'm gonna get a small one like Dev has there. Dev... did you need to set some special setting in the BIOS for windows to recognize the SSD? I read somewhere it can be difficult for a fresh windows install to recognize it as a hard disk.

Ok, folks! I know how much I'll be getting for my settlement, and I should be getting it soon, so I can finally put a price tag on what I can spend for a new rig. I'm looking to drop somewhere between $800-$1000 on the setup. I would like to have something that won't be obsolete practically out of the box (ahem, Taz, socket 939, ahem); something that will play today's games and tomorrow's games—if tomorrow were 4-5 years from now. Bearing all that in mind, I am also seriously considering upgrading my monitor, as this one probably won't be able to keep pace with a new GPU. I figure that will probably eat about 20% of my budget, so it might make things a bit tight. I'm also pretty sure it's time to go legit with the OS, seeing as how WinBlows isn't obscenely overpriced for this incarnation. I'd like to hear your thoughts on how I should go or suggestions of what I should go with. Note, I will be going completely from scratch here (case, PSU, Mobo...), with perhaps the exception of a DVD burner. Thanks, guys!

Ice, I think you are going to have to drop the "tomorrow" estimation from 4-5 years to 4-5 *months*. Ok, probably not that much, but I doubt you are going to be able to put a rig together for $600-$800 that will play the newest games 2 years from now. Just sayin'. Double the amount to $1600 and you might be able to go 4 years, but still iffy.

But I don't know, it doesn't seem like the requirements for today's games are not much more than they were 2 years ago, so I could be wrong.

Just go with newer stuff and don't go cheap... then you can upgrade small pieces later on without a complete overhaul.

You can get a really nice 22" LED LCD monitor for like.. $120 if you keep your eyes peeled.
