Those sounds are probably beta sounds. Sound effects are often among the last things put into the game.
If anything, this will convince me that Borderlands is actually a PC game rather than a console game ported to PC.![]()
Mirror's Edge uses UE3. The "tutorial level" on the PC version gives you instructions that relate to an X-box360 controller. Even when you don't have one plugged in...."Port" is a term that doesn't have much meaning anymore, especially with UE3 games.
Anyhoo, listening to their commentary I realized there are a lot of ways the game can be improved, patched, or added on to with DLC. What are the plans for that in the future? Also I know its early but what are Gearbox's policy regarding pricing for pc versus xbox? Some companies like valve will give stuff for free on pc, but have to charge for 360.
I didn't have that in Mirror's Edge.Mirror's Edge uses UE3. The "tutorial level" on the PC version gives you instructions that relate to an X-box360 controller. Even when you don't have one plugged in.
There's nothing that screams "port" louder than a "we can't be bothered to detect your preferred controller".
Not that that it has stopped me from pre-ordering Borderlands mind.
I liked the sounds, myself (having played it). I don't watch the videos for these games very often, so I don't know what the sounds are like in the video, but I think something like "weapon sounds" is pretty subjective. That's what they said about World at War.
Honestly, if the sounds stay like they are, that's enough to put me off of the game. There are plenty of other options for co-op shooters out there these days, and while I do like the premise of Borderlands, I can't stand shooters with weak weapon sounds.
And all most of you've hear has been Youtube quality audio. The game does sound really nice through decent PC speakers or you home stereo system.
surely they wouldn't dare ride the coat tails of L4D's successBTW I'm not really found of it (actually, not at all), but the first DLC has been announced.
