you have this unlimited range of weapons but such a relatively narrow band of applications in which to use them.

My complaint is that a lot of the weapons just suck. A lot of them are cookie cutter models of each other with a different paint job or scope attachment. And they all seem to be projectile based, most of them SLOW projectiles. It takes some time going from a hitscan fps to this because in this you need to lead off the enemies in order to hit them. It would be cool if they mixed hitscan in with projectile weapons, just to give some variety.

Shotguns are absolutely useless. The bullets are so slow it's like I'm shooting through jello. Rocket launchers, even those that do an obscene amount of damage, lack any sort of punch whatsoever. Such a slow moving lame looking projectile with no big explosion or feeling of stopping force.

All in all the game is a spamfest. Kill wave after wave of enemies with as much gunfire as possible. Rinse, repeat. I can see why you got tired of it. But it is super fun for the first play-through at least. And you do get *a lot* of game for your money, especially compared to the average 8 hour game length these days.

I have just started in this game, and would love to play with someone else, but the problem I have is that every online game that I find has about 200+ ping, which is pretty horrendous.. :/

After a while everything got redundant and I wasn't getting any better guns despite constant farming so I said forget it and stopped playing.

Got other shit to do yo!

I think the bad drop rate is the worst thing in this game. I still find it fun to play with different characters, and with several friends playing and farming and duping, we usually find a bunch of nice things. The biggest thing is, after end game, co-op is pretty much a necessity. This was true in Borderlands as well. I almost never played solo after I beat everything.

I got back into my games after reinstalling Steam :)

I'm playing largely solo - I've defeated all four raid bosses, so it's entirely doable. There doesn't seem to be much point repeating them though as they rarely drop anything worthwhile.

What irks me is if you read the Gearbox forums on BL2, people will bitch and moan about bad drop rates, but then will also bitch and moan at any crafting idea*, claiming it will "destroy looting which is the core of BL2"
*Even if said idea is basically throw $2million and 90+ eridium at a vendor to "upgrade" a lvl 49 item to lvl 50
Looting isn't even that feasible in BL2. Without cheats to force enlarged BP size, you get 27 items plus your 8 equipped items/weapons and I really doubt anyone here has less than 4 weapons they want to hang onto

I agree that the drop rates are horrendous. In BL1, if you took out Craw during PT1, it wasn't unusual for him to spew out 50+ items, of which you'd see 4-5 Oranges and a shitload of decent to high grade purples.
Take out a raid boss in BL2 and you see maybe 20 items, most of which will be white/green and/or seraph crystals(imo, most seraph weapons are crap)

Another thing I hate is how long it takes to loot ammo chests, considering you do it like 50 bazillion times throughout the game.

Open loot chest (key press #1)
The "use" key becomes disabled
Wait for opening animation to finish
Wait for ammo to become enabled (glowing lines above it)
The "use" key finally becomes enabled
Hold to pick up ammo (key press #2)

They really couldn't streamline that process? Make it a one key press sort of thing? It wouldn't be so annoying if it weren't for the fact that ammo chests are EVERYWHERE.

Yeah, I thought Gearbox really understood that backpack space was one of the biggest complaints about BL. There are even less spaces to hold things in BL2!! It's ridiculous...

And I keep thinking of Craw, too. I found dozens of weapons I hung onto in BL from Craw, and he was hard to solo. I still haven't kill Hyperius in PT2 to say nothing for Master Gee or Pete. I know it's doable but I guess I have bad builds or not the right weapons.

I disagree. It depends on the shotgun. I'll agree with you that most of them are useless, but I've got Miss Moxxi's Heartbreaker and it is an absolutely kick-ass shotgun. It's easy to obtain, yet arguably the best shotgun in the game. It has a powerful incendiary stat so it's very effective even at medium range, and at close range it pumps out ludicrous amounts of damage. It can almost one-shot a lot of enemies that are well above it's level. The grouping is fairly tight for a shotgun and mine does not have the crap "Increased accuracy while firing" stat, so the first shot is always pretty accurate. It also returns 2% of all damage done back to me as health. Not only is it a badass weapon, it keeps me alive longer.

I've had this shotgun since maybe level 22 (I'm near 30 now) and I have yet to find a better shotgun.

Yep. I haven't quite finished the plot and I'm already very bored with it. But that's Borderlands for you. It's Diablo with guns and less emphasis on plot, but at least the plot is more SP-friendly in BL2. The first game was an absolute bore-fest in SP.

I found it easy to compare a newly found weapon against backpack contents, especially since the backpack auto-sorted to match the weapon type I was considering.
In BL2 if I want to compare a sniper rifle I have equipped to something I just picked up, I have to either dig through the unsorted list or pre-sort by weapon before comparing and even then I have to scroll to the bottom of the weapons list.

I've played a good bit of BL2 since it launched, and I think the BL1 backpack is infinitely more efficient than the BL2 bp
The player should be able to get in to the UI, find out what they want and quickly return to the game.
Then why the fuck do I have to hit Escape to get out of the menu? The only key that lets you "toggle" the backpack/etc is the "Show Status" key

Another thing they need to fucking fix is essentially pausing the game so it can "Search for downloadable content"
Do it in the fucking background so I can tinker with settings or pick a character or see who is playing

Bah, there's way too much in that post to rant about right now

Nonsense, it's one of the easiest things to do in the game and just as easy as the Crimson Lance glitch spot and a lot quicker.

edit: JD was right.

Could you guys give me a hint or two about how to get in there quicker? I found a couple of promising spots to get in without praying for the jump up his body glitch to snap in faster but in the end none worked.

It's even worst than digging through stuff in your backpack because of hidden stats. Like, all Jacobs weapons have a hidden multiplier for critical damage.

Hey folks!

Is anyone up for some trades here? I have a bunch of legendary Items as well as some etech and some rares. I do a lot of Warrior, Terramorphous and Pyro Pete runs so I've acquired a lot of gear.

Too many to list but here are a few highlights:

Slayer of Terramorphous Mods (Pretty sure I have them all)
Blood of Terramorphous
Breath of Terramorphous
Hide of Terramorphous
Critical Conference Call - Everyones favorite.
Raket Pawket Badaboom - Shoots 6 rockets with 64k damage each. Pretty much everything dies with just one hit. This is a special version which has +50% Melee Damage which is unlisted but you can tell because your character will stab with the weapon instead of a fist or sword.
Flacker
Volcano
Lots of Artifacts. You name it, I've probably got it.

Let me know what your looking for and I'll see what I can do for you. Just ask! I might just be able to get it for you if I don't have it.

ALL ITEMS MUST BE LVL 50 !!

Right now I'm looking for:

Razrez Lyuda - This version is non elemental and features +145% Critical Hit and should have a magazine size larger than 22 rounds.
Sledge's Shotgun Interested in any versions that have +50% critical hit damage
Rabid Rapier (captains Rapier will be fine. Not interested in the elemental versions unless you have a slagged version.) Gotta have that 200% melee damage!
Infinity Pistol (prefer the non elemental flavor)
Redundant Fibber - Prefer the Shock elemental damage version (Only interested in the version that the spike splits. Do not want the bouncing spike version.)
Pitchfork
Alkaline Love Thumper - I'm looking for one with 39k or higher roid damage. I don't care too much about the other stats of this shield.
Alkaline Bee Shield - Looking for one with 40k or higher amp damage. Other stats are not as a important.
Norfleet - I prefer the shock version but will also accept the fire version.
Firebee Grenade
Big Badaboom Looking for a version that does 90k x6 or higher damage

I'm willing to entertain other trades to help you out, but the items listed above are at the top of my list.

My machine destroys BL2. I have a i7-3770k, 8gb ram, 460gtx. I'm running it with everything on max.

Awe... Man.. I'm PC only. I forgot to mention that.

Thats crazy. I have a i5 Sandy bridge with a GTX 680 and it struggles with physics on max. I like to keep the game at a constant 60fps. Anything slower and I've gotta back some settings down. :)

Hit me up guys if anyone is up for some trades. My mule character is super full :)
