you have this unlimited range of weapons but such a relatively narrow band of applications in which to use them.
Yeah, I thought Gearbox really understood that backpack space was one of the biggest complaints about BL. There are even less spaces to hold things in BL2!! It's ridiculous...What irks me is if you read the Gearbox forums on BL2, people will bitch and moan about bad drop rates, but then will also bitch and moan at any crafting idea*, claiming it will "destroy looting which is the core of BL2"
*Even if said idea is basically throw $2million and 90+ eridium at a vendor to "upgrade" a lvl 49 item to lvl 50
Looting isn't even that feasible in BL2. Without cheats to force enlarged BP size, you get 27 items plus your 8 equipped items/weapons and I really doubt anyone here has less than 4 weapons they want to hang onto
I agree that the drop rates are horrendous. In BL1, if you took out Craw during PT1, it wasn't unusual for him to spew out 50+ items, of which you'd see 4-5 Oranges and a shitload of decent to high grade purples.
Take out a raid boss in BL2 and you see maybe 20 items, most of which will be white/green and/or seraph crystals(imo, most seraph weapons are crap)
My complaint is that a lot of the weapons just suck. A lot of them are cookie cutter models of each other with a different paint job or scope attachment. And they all seem to be projectile based, most of them SLOW projectiles. It takes some time going from a hitscan fps to this because in this you need to lead off the enemies in order to hit them. It would be cool if they mixed hitscan in with projectile weapons, just to give some variety.
Shotguns are absolutely useless. The bullets are so slow it's like I'm shooting through jello. Rocket launchers, even those that do an obscene amount of damage, lack any sort of punch whatsoever. Such a slow moving lame looking projectile with no big explosion or feeling of stopping force.
All in all the game is a spamfest. Kill wave after wave of enemies with as much gunfire as possible. Rinse, repeat. I can see why you got tired of it. But it is super fun for the first play-through at least. And you do get *a lot* of game for your money, especially compared to the average 8 hour game length these days.
Then why the fuck do I have to hit Escape to get out of the menu? The only key that lets you "toggle" the backpack/etc is the "Show Status" keyThe player should be able to get in to the UI, find out what they want and quickly return to the game.
Nonsense, it's one of the easiest things to do in the game and just as easy as the Crimson Lance glitch spot and a lot quicker.
edit: JD was right.
It's even worst than digging through stuff in your backpack because of hidden stats. Like, all Jacobs weapons have a hidden multiplier for critical damage.I found it easy to compare a newly found weapon against backpack contents, especially since the backpack auto-sorted to match the weapon type I was considering.
In BL2 if I want to compare a sniper rifle I have equipped to something I just picked up, I have to either dig through the unsorted list or pre-sort by weapon before comparing and even then I have to scroll to the bottom of the weapons list.
on xbawks I could give you some of the weapons you're looking for mike. At least you probably got fancy cloth physX![]()
My machine destroys BL2. I have a i7-3770k, 8gb ram, 460gtx. I'm running it with everything on max.
