deathmaker - the remote on/off comes with a device card that connects to the mobo's power and reset switches. the card also has a small antennae to receive the remote signals.
terminal - the lights generate virtually no heat. they run 24/7, and are always cool to the touch, just like the fluorescent tubes in your kitchen. i got the idea from the lighting guys on set - to spiff up a dull set quickly, they'd use fluorescent tubes covered in colored gels. the best thing about those 'flo-tubes' was that the set always stayed nice and cool, unlike the oven-baking effects of regular movie lights!!
snipeo - the monitor light wires were pulled to the back of the monitor, where the reds & blacks are soldered together so i only needed to make one connection instead of two. then i hooked up an adapter with a red/black wire to a power supply plug inside the case, and ran that wire out the back of the case, where i joined it with the monitor light wire(s). again, there may be an easier way, but this is what i came with, and it works, so...
qapete - aw shucks... i'm flattered!
i liked the "plenty of balls" comment too, hehehe!!
boom - that was MY server you were playing on, and that particular map was called 'reticent'!
i'll bet you probably fragged with me and/or my asst. dictator me2, since we play there 'most every night! (sad note - my UT server was with excite@home and went down for good two days ago - we're trying to relocate it now... *sob!*)
well, if i need dismantled and/or multiple computers for geek-level status, i guess my 5 athlons and 1 intel - all in permanently open cases - should qualify me. LOL! and if any of my babies starts overheating, i've got plenty of toys to remedy THAT problem too, hehehe...
