Burger, there probably won't be a WP2 since we're changing our release strategy slightly.

There WON'T be a weapon pack 2? Are you sure? Because from the replies above, it seems people haven't read that part. And about the stratergy change...?

the AK weve got im pretty sure is an AKM... just that when N'KeNnY initially made it, it was with a metal folding stock, but that got changed to a wooden one later. the name AKMS still stuck to the file though so i guess thats what happened.

Yes, any misnomered weapons are largely due to the fact i just copied our list of files on the FTP, so if it wasnt renamed on there then its not named correctly in my list.

As for any other statements questions, i provided in LARGE TYPEFACE a link to our forums for such things, most of the team is hesitant to discuss such things here on BUF for various reasons.

'super-weapons'?
but on a more serious note, I have always felt that the M4 is clearly shorter and less powerful then a full-barreled 5.56mm weapon, so ought be doing SG551 damage. not that the +8% damage or whatever made the M4A1 a 'super-weapon' in my eyes, but if thats part of '{patch coming soon}' then I'd be one happy camper. :)
Its the ROF{read: rate of fire} you guys keep misinterpreting as being an 'uberweapon' NOT the damage, it has been stated time and again by the team members, the coder and numerous other peoples that the ballistic code is EXACTLY the same as the SS weapons, NO DIFFERENCE, so please, by all means bother SS with making thier 5.56mm weapons Uber.
Less powerful than a full barreled 5.56mm weapon....hmmm, since the weapons in question are firing the EXACT SAME AMMUNITION for all intents and purposes, this is a mis-statement of factual and contextual information, power has no bearing on range or accuracy, which would be really waht the issue would be with a shorter barreled weapon as opposed to a full sized weapon, but then again, a lot can be corrected by the rifling or twist, as well as several other factors which can influence what everyone keeps assuming is the weapons 'power' factors.

At this point with 25 nice weapons available, its quite hard to add anything that nobody will consider either:

1.) Redundant/Replacement
2.) Overpowered
3.) Pointless

Not adding the m203 to the M4 and longer weaponswitch was a wise choice IMO. Its still one of the best Rifles in game but nowhere near 'ueber'.

P.S.

You guys wanne hire me as a fanboy? :)

Right.... I am going to have to disagree with you there. Everyone knows the M4 has a lower muzzle velocity than the M16. Therefore, it should do slightly less damage, have slightly less range, etc.

But, you guys just copied the ballistics from the FAMAS and used them on the M4, which was a mistake IMO.

Don't get me wrong, I love the weapons put out by the INF MOD team. But you guys need to take criticism better when you know cut a corner in the dev process for a weapon.

This sounds good for me, on damage especially (range...see further down). I don't think it is good to use: Caliber = Damage, because it is even more unrealistic than caliber * barrel length (read: mass*speed) = damage.

Well, all 5.56mm rifles have the same ballistics ingame. So if the values from the sig were used (same barrel length as m4), it would not have been any different.

Lich has got you there. ;) Why does no one seem to remember that Duke pulled the ballistics info out and showed, on these very forums, that what Lich said regarding 5.56mm is true?

ok lasersailor, if crowze didnt answer this one ill answer it - the M14 does have iron sights if you look carefully at the renders (though ive actually deleted them off my FTP, sorry space problems). and you know, i dont put in details for no apparent reason ;)

Tavor 2? The tavor version that is going to be standard issue is the 1 in http://www.imi-israel.com/imi/doa_iis.dll/Serve/item/English/1.1.2.12.2.5.html - commando tavor assault rifle.
I don't know if the tavor2 even exists beyond what's written on http://www.isayeret.com/weapons/assault/tavor/guide.htm
I have a friend in squad leader course who, along with his platoon, go through the course with a commando tavor instead of the usual M16A1 used in courses in the IDF (since they learn instead of fighting they get old weapons usually). He said they were told it's already decided to have it enter service and they're testing very final things (something about how strong/durable the plastic is...) and basically use it (and smack it a lot) in the combat drills they do in the course.

Letmme understand this thru, without misconception:
There won´t be a WP#2, but all (or a majority) of the guns listed above will be included to the arsenal as "patches" to WP#1, is that right? Or will be released one by one, as M16A4 and XM8 were released alone before?

Possibly Correct @ Crpl Lib

@ Kw, ok, and im really not gonna argue, ill just post facts and await your answer, you are entitled to disagree totally with anything i or any of the team says, but id like to post a little information first and then pose my question.

We have 2 weapons, ill give you only vague information on the pertinent criteria you all are judging Infiltration weapons by, only barrel length, projectile weight, and propellants and range......

Weapon # 1

Bore length 89 inches
bore diameter 2.9 inches
range 2000 yards
projectile weight 10lbs
using 2 lbs propellant

Weapon # 2

370mm bore length
bore diameter 5.56mmX45
range 360meters
projectile weight 3.56/3.95 grams
using appropriate grams of propellant

which gun has greater range and accuracy, since the barrel length has everything to do with how 'powerful/accurate/uber' the weapon is?

simply list one answer like so: #1 or #2, no mathematic proof required, just a simple answer, if your answer is wrong ill require justification, if it isnt, ill extrapolate further.
