  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. ok look people i hate 2.9 i hate it. theres a few reasons why, i think you guys did a good job but you totaly changed inf, you turned it into a boring snorfest with objectives and crap. you killed the fast paced run and gun of it all, you shot down the robar hipping, witch we at naughty had gotten rather good at, i just wont to express this and hope you guys like bring back all the fun you destoryed with 2.9.

That's your opinion. Most of people here like 2.9. More realist than the previous IMHO.
Furthermore INF is the opossite of a " run and gun" game.
I just hope they will improve it till we have a simulator.

Sigh, well folks are entitled to any opinion, I dont think INF will ever be about run and gun anymore, play 2.65 or 2.75 if thats what you want, there is also CS or a mryiad of other mindless bunnyhopping blast everything with nuclear weapons games out there. So time to either move on or play, but whining never gains anything. Better yet maybe write a mutator to make INF the style that Naughty wants and play it on your servers? All good ideas for those not happy with something in the world. This goes for more than just online gaming BTW.

I.... I.. I.. I don't even know where to begin. Let's get one thing straight. INF aims to be as realistic as possible. Do you think running around with a sniper rifle at your hip, blasting off at anything that moves is realistic? I didn't think so. INF WANTS to be different, not the same as all the other 2657 other First person shooters out there. If you don't like it, play one or more of those 2657 other FPS's out there where you can bunnyhop, do a 360 in the air and blast off your enemy's head with your Robar as you land.

Infiltration is MEANT to be an alternative, not a clone, to all the other games where you can do the run&gun, Spray&Pray-routine. If that doesn't fit your style of playing, that's your preference.

Oh, and by the way, what's stopping you from playing 2.86 if that's what you want?

I'm really happy that you enjoyed the pre-2.9 version like I did (but obviously not for the same reason).

I think it's sad that you don't like this version, but this is your vision. Not mine. At least you give some credit to SS for their good work which is much more already then some other 2.9 "haters" did.

Anyway, I wish you good luck in the great world of the thousand and one alternatives to semi-rea-shoot-n-run games. May I suggest, if you haven't tried it yet, Desert Combat for BF1942 (no I'm not beeing sarcastic or anything). DC is a great mod and certanly a good (and fun) alternative to the fast paced game that INF < 2.9 could have been for some.

It's a conspiracy.

What happened is that the Realism Mafia threatened to give Beppo a pair of granite galoshers if he made Inf 2.9 more than about ten percent fun.

We're trying to nobble Inf so that everybody plays Counter Strike and Tactical Operations.

We will only be happy when there's five of us left playing every "REALAIM FRIDAY" and at no other times.

god you people this is far from a joke, am i the olny one tired of this realism crap played out yea inf is suppose to be about real battle but for god sakes you can run and gun if you have to and as for the bar hipping i guess you never had the skills to do it and trust me you dont know what you missing. its becomming just like all thease WW2 games that keep reprducing the same crap. and dont give me that bull that if you dont like it dont play it, i use to love inf the whole community was a very lose fun atomsphere now it seems untight and crap.

we have our own server artard but its 2.9 that and it sucks anyway and yes they did that....cus they did they got rid of the 2.86 servers and now there all 2.9 so yea they did do it.

How come your server is running 2.9 if you don't like 2.9. Is it really YOUR server? I guess not.

I don't know who you are refering to when you use "they"... who is "they"... certanly not Sentry Studios since I haven't seen any servers run by them. So you must be refering to server admins running INF servers.

If you have your own server (I understand for your clan) why don't you ask your server admin to move it back to 2.86 or to create a new one with 2.86 on the same box?

Another alternative would be to contact an admin running multiple servers...

If you don't like 2.9 and prefere 2.86. that's fine with me. But if you can't find a server running 2.86, don't come whining to those who play 2.9. Especially if you didn't even try to get a 2.86 server up.

I don't know what you plan to do or do in RL, but if you can't go through such a minor thing, I can't even guess how you'll turn out when you get in front of a real problem.

guys, guys.. calm down. i think its just fair if they want to play a less restrictive inf, right? "go to cs" is hardly something to expect from a mature community :rolleyes:

i like inf the way it is, but thats my problem. if you guys want some more run&gun check the microbulk mutator for example. it shouldn't be hard to create a mutator wich reimplants the 2.86 way of acocs, snipers and playerspeeds - im no coder, but uscript isn't that hard to learn and i guess a few of our local codemonkys are polite enough to help you out with this. you might want to give toad a call as he (as a coder) doesn't like the way 2.9 does a few things either.
