Unofficial Epic Deathmatch Map Pack
for Unreal

This pack is a compilation of recovery efforts made by multiple people. These who supplied the original Unreal OEM demo, the GWPress addon pack or the infamous leaked beta of Unreal have given us an option to recover the unique set of maps that is presented below. 5 out of 10 maps that make the pack have been updated for compatibility with the latest Unreal versions (ranging from 224 to 227) because in their raw form they were literally useless due to incompatibility. Hopefully all bugs have been removed and the pack is now available for download.

The contents are as follows:

Bay C (DmBayC.unr) by Elliot "Myscha" Cannon. A space cruiser docking bay. Untouched so far. Origin: OEM demo.

Despair (DmDespair.unr) by Mick 'VerMoorD' Beard. Another moody temple. Untouched so far. Initially made for Return to Na Pali, but after getting cut from the game, now freely available for Unreal.

Eclipse (DmEclipse.unr) by Jeremy War. Another skycity run and gun with traps to beef up the experience. Initially ported from the beta by Delacroix and totally debugged by RoninMastaFX. In the beta there were two builds of the map, Sky11 and Sky12 respectively.

Morbfanza (DmMorbfanza.unr) by Elliot "Myscha" Cannon. Morbias, Deathfan and Ariza combined into one huge arena for large scale deathmatches. This level was initially ported from the beta by me and totally debugged by RoninMastaFX.

Splash Fortress (DmSplash.unr) by Eenocks. A Skaarj themed duel map with lots of portals to surprise opponents from behind. Initially ported from the beta by Delacroix, totally debugged and finished by RoninMastaFX. This level was in a very raw shape when simply ported, luckily RMFX has had a perfect image of it in his memory... The map was scrapped just before release and RMFX had that RC once. Hence the knowledge of the map.

I recognize some of these from UT DMU packs and some others not at all. How many of these were released (unofficial of course) with a name change for UT?

Yeah, the MORBias/deathFAN/ariZA combo is a killer. I felt sad when I became aware of its existence and the fact that it was scrapped. It truly deserves a place in our Unreal installs :)

You should keep the old version of the division pack though which had only the OEM levels and GW press addon ones.
I converted beta dm levels back in 2006 already, but I didn't add them skybox etc. They were just straight conversions. I thought you planned morbfanza for the ut forgotten classic pack, I didn't know you had planned this. Anyway if you will alter the GW press levels, like Scruular, better change name or something. In the DMU pack the Scruular was largely fixed, geometry and lighting wise.

And zynthetic made beta pack for UT, but he has not replaced the weapons by hand breaking compatibility with some mods etc.

Nah, the old version I now consider incomplete and totally prerelease. I will not keep it. It is useless to keep broken things, is it not?

Fear not for the file mismatches though. In the final version of the pack, the map names will be: DM-MapName (much like Fusion) instead of DmMapName which is the present state. As for UT MorbFanza, Eclipse and Splash, they are also ported to UT with full weapon/inventory change and WILL be a part of FCBP. As for Scruular, thanks for the tip, I'll have RMFX investigate this, as well the rest of the levels.

I would suggest renaming the pack, since the original division pack contained levels only by Epic and no beta levels. You should keep that one, just rename this to Division 2 or ultimate division or something (sound crappy though).

The beta maps are also Epic work! Eclipse was dubbed Sky (even got described in the Prima Official Guide as Sky14), Morbfanza and Splash also were described there as a component of the game! OK, so perhaps this is an update to the previous Division package (10 maps instead of 6), but nevertheless, this is still pure Epic!

I just got back from work and noticed I have that old Division pack and it looks like it is only 6 maps. It's an EXE file for the install and it looks like I already installed it. Does it only contain 6 UNR files (oh and maybe a txt file as well)?

Also, can this new pack please be released in zip format with no EXE file? I just like having more control over what's installed on my computer. Thank you.

That's right, old division = 6 maps, 1 text. As for the release format for complete Division - 10 maps, 1 text. ZIP/EXE depending on the users' choices.

I know they are by Epic, but they are fixed/altered and from betas, while the stuff that is already in the old division pack was released by Epic themselves, the betas were not. It should really have updated name.

Exactly so. These are the original versions of the maps, untouched if possible (only bugs were removed!). Besides "quite some time" ago (two years back, EARLIER even?) I humbly asked you to re-port Morbfanza, Splash and Sky (Eclipse) to Unreal - I received advice I tried to follow but failed miserably.... and the main place for those is UNREAL, not UT. For Unreal they were initially done, but cut. And now they are being restored...
