Who use UT Buddy ?

Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.
Since the first or second day it has run just perfectly.
Unless we are gonna bump this thread forever, you guys better put your ID in your sig or status like LK.
One terrific thing about the UT Buddy is being able to spot buddies even if they play under an alias.

i would be VERY surprised if the number past the single digits of people who'd consider that to be the case. Most mearly tolerate my presenance, which ive come to accept and i dont let that knowlage bother me overly much. i try to be helpful when and whare i can and that is pretty much enough for me. question: what do you mean by IRL?
*edit* ok, to be fair and Completely truthful i have played a few times with some of Farmer's clan mates and it Was fun even with the sh|tty pings i was getting. admitidly, most of the ones i played clearly have better skilz then i but considering how often ive played (particularly online) that is hardly a surprise. for Some reason farmer even offered me to Jion his clan .... which leaves me to question his standards.
Hmm.... have to check out their chatroom and see if anyone is there for a game or something tonight. sh|t, why is it whenever i am bored near to tears no one is online in my icq list. *sigh* say,la ve! on to gamming them, wish me luck.

I tried UT Buddy last night and my # is 475. The problem is that while it was running in the background it would cause my online games to lag every 2-3 minutes for 4-5 seconds.
I'm not 100% sure this is due to UTB so I'm going to test it more tonight.

I have the same experience.
I guess UT Buddy connects to the UT Buddy-server every 4 or 5 minutes to update the information about you.
It would be better if it only updated when you change server or map.
OK, I think that's reason enough for this to be reported as a bug. I won't send Monk a mail since I think he follows this thread anyway .

I was wonder what would happen if I have to reinstall everything on my pc.
Will UT Buddy assign me a new ID everytime I install it or can I use my old one?

The Lag Bug::
This only seems to happen to some people... I am going to tweak the server a little and see if that helps. If I still get lag complaints, then I'll need to optimize the client... I'll keep you posted.
Multiple Instances of UTBuddy::
UTbuddy uses 2 key pieces of information that need to be in 2 places on your machine::
INFO::
1- UTbuddyID <- your buddy ID
2- UTUnq <- your unique UTbuddy tag (this prevents others from viewing your buddy list and false posts to UTbuddy server)
PLACES::
1- your registry. UTbuddy client uses this info form your registry.
2- your unrealtournament.ini file UTbuddy umod uses this info
HOW::
If you wanted to Install the UTbuddy client on another machine OR you wanted to reInstall then::
- Install/reInstall the client on the target machine by running the setup.exe program.
- BEFORE launching it for the first time:
--Open the registry (Start->Run, type: regedit, press enter)
--*Note: Do Not Edit ANYTHING Else in the registry
--IF it's a NEW INSTALL::
--->then Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\
--->Right-Click on SOFTWARE
--->Click New->Key
--->Name the NewKey "UTbuddy" (without the quotes)
--->Right-Click on UTbuddy
--->Click New->Key
--->Name the NewKey "Settings" (without the quotes)
--->Right-Click on Settings
--->Click New->String Value
--->Name the String Value "UTBID" (without the quotes)
--->Double Click the Entry you just made UTBID and enter your UTbuddyID for it's value

That's better than having a user registration system eh? Most people wouldn't even bother to install the program if they had to drop an email address or something...

I have not experienced this lag thing. I'm on cable so maybe it doesn't matter?

I played last night looking for signs og this lag. Only thing out of the ordinary was that I got fragged a lot more than usual. Damn you UT Buddy
