Who use UT Buddy ?

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

UTbuddy...Nice response

Thanks to everyone trying UTbuddy!
Yeah, the response was a little unexpected... So the server slowed down a "tad" <- thats a technical term. :)
Anyways, things are back to normal and going real good. I am hacking through tons of email, so if you emailed me, sorry for the delay.
..much thanx for your patience..

Maybe your pr0n-folders :D

Updating your files...

Robot TinMan|PuF ::

Sometimes this happens. If your files are older than the ones that UTbuddy installs, then it will prompt you.

Mainly, these are DLL's and OCX's (listed below) that UTbuddy uses. Generally it is okay to let the install program update these files, HOWEVER, it would be a good idea to back these up (in a temp directory) just in case!

UTbuddy Files::
asycfilt.dll
Comcat.dll
comdlg32.ocx
Msinet.ocx
msvbvm60.dll
oleaut32.dll
olepro32.dll
vb6stkit.dll

So, just do a search for these files on your system (most likely in your windows\system32 directory) and back them up.

..much thanx for trying UTbuddy!..

Hey StonedMonk, I know you've got a couple of e-mails from us already, but I'm gonna throw in some more praise here as well.
My clan (=UTK=) have just started using your app, and it's very handy. Thanks for the contribution and keep up the good work! :)

Exactly. I've got 3 more ppl in the [AB] using it already! We are more a bunch of old farts than a real clan (even a granspa in there :p ), so it's not like we can "require" it... Just have to use harassment!

Two more UT Buddy suggestions!

First thing:
I have a dual boot machine. I am #256 after installing UTBuddy in win98se.
Now today I installed it in win2k (so I can check for potential victims w/o rebooting...) and it assigned me a new UTBuddy number even tho the log file I pointed it to has my old 256 number. :eek:
Now I feel terrible, cuz I have more than my share of UTBuddy user numbers! Number 435 is mine and should be free for other UT addicts out there. :(
What should I do? :eek:

Second thing:
Would it be difficult to add an option to import a buddy list? (Just imagine the possibilities: "Download the PUF buddy list *here*..." ) :cool:

imma prolly not the first one to bring this up but....

and i love this idea btw...

is there a way to show "currently playing" or something.. last logged game is ok... but it would be nice to know if they are actually there or just left...

and is there a time correction type thing that you could set up... i was looking a euro number last night... it was 11:40 my time.. and his said 5:40am.... now i know he's in europe... but i'd have to dig a bit to figgure out the timezone... this problem would not be an issue if the above was to be persued however...

nice werk...

Butress out.

FeedBack..I love it!

UT users own! You all own...

Randy_M:: I really dig the "import buddy list" idea. Perhaps "share-able" buddy lists. I'll send you an email on how to fix this.

Butress:: TimeZOnes... good thought, I just fixed the timezone issue. All UTbuddy posts (from 5:00PM EST on) will be posted in GMT on the UTbuddy server. It was selfish of me to think EVERYONE lived in EST. :p Besides, I SUCK at math!

What do you guys think about chat? I mean, there is already IRC.. hmmm, do I smell integration?

Thanks everyone for the support and input.... this feeds my motivation!

I really can't see any reason not to download it :)

and that STILL dosnt tell me much of what EXACALLY is it and does. how will we know if we're interested otherwise? :confused:

UTbuddy=Buddy List for Unreal Tournament

UTbuddy is basically a way for you and your friends to track each others location when on internet UT servers. It manages a buddy list for you and tells you the last time your friends played.

As Marley said:: Try HERE for more info. (ScreenShots, Description, FAQ, etc..)

..much thanx..

Great job on this program. A simple effective way of finding the people you want to kill. Hehe.

Seems to work flawlessly. As my clanmate already pointed out, we like it so much we've added it to our clan setup.

A big thumbs up!!

So why don't you guys who use UT Buddy and do not currently have your # displayed in your sig, put it in like Swedix suggested?
It's a lot easier than going through IDs 1-500 seeking out any known PuFers, especially since some of us might use an alias from time to time.
