those vehicles devour energy....

Yes but if you consider that you get energy bonuses for a populous game, and energy sources really give you a good amount of energy .. the amount is quite negligible :)

It would be more helpful if the Techs would concentrate on getting/keeping generators while leaving the offense/defense to the other classes

I'd actually say rangers due to the sheer virtue of there speed are more suited to gen capping than techs on some maps. I'd prefer a decent tech in attack than have him just capping gens.

Just a quick bit of info...

1 single force wall....eh...what's the word....post i guess. You know, a force wall with no actual wall....anyway....The post alone does not take energy. If you don't see the actual energy barrier then no energy is being drained. Some people will tell you to leave the posts there to hurt the enemy but they don't hurt/help. Also the little numbers on the side count 1 force wall for every actual barrier, not every post. So if you see only 1 on the right there's still 2 posts, and not just one post hidden somewhere draining energy without doing anything.

While rangers can reach the gen first thier hack time isn't nearly as good, and if somebody see's you, well then you die.

yeah,it takes a ranger a life time to hack a gen/deploy compared to a ranger.it's greta when a ranger will actually help a tech, together they can be very hard to get rid of.

The classes don't lock you into playing any specific position. If you wanna be a gunner gen capper then by all means.

the classes are fluid you can do what you want to.

I don't play tech so probably shouldn't be ranting but when energy gets low you should take your turret field ofline, when you have no generators take the suckers offline, especialy if somebody is waiting for a cap

Of course. Any tech should be taking down any excessive walls or turrets they see. If you watch your team energy meter you'll see a number next to four central icons. These are how many of each of these deployables you have out. It's color will shift from green(?) to yellow to red, indicating excessive amounts.

This is of course if the tech is near the offending deployables. If he's out in the field he should be heading for energy sources to cap, but really so should anyone else even if they're not a tech. Espically if someone is waiting to cap an artifact.

I highly suggest binding a key to the voice command button and using it often. Using a combination of "I've got an artifact!" and "We need energy!" can go a long way. Often times people don't even notice. I use "I've got an artifact!" all the time in combinations with that, and specific requests like "I need backup!". Lose your ego and know that the whole point of the game is to get that artifact home, and if you get help that makes it so much easier.

If anyone can tell what the energy threshhold is for the different game elements, that would be l33t. I'm not for sure, but I think vehicles go online/offline at 300, forcewalls at 500, manned turrets at either 700 or 750, and art node at 800. Max is 1200ish. (I've seen it hover around 1204)

i think from 300(vehicle3s) up to the arti node(800) things come online every 50 energy.

Once I get my computer running I'll edit this post and get you the whole shebang. That is unless someone else has the information.

Yesterday in a game, our "defender" (perhaps "turret spammer" is a more accurate word) had around 20/30 turrets around our arti node, yet we only had one energy source.

So, I went to the arti node when it went offline, and picked up all the turrets he had placed. Then he started cussing at me and calling me a "omfg you ****ing n00b, we need those for defense!111!". I told him to "STFU and go learn how this game works.". Then he started a ban vote against me, which much to my sadness actually passed and I was banned :(.

I told him several times BEFORE I said that, that he should take down the turrets, because we didnt have enough energy sources.

After 5 mins of getting the "omfg you ****ing n00b, we need those for defense!111!" message on my screen (damn those messages take up alot of space) I got a tad annoyed and told him to "STFU and go learn how this game works".

My fault, I guess.
