Not only would you be helping refuel the UT3 community by mapping and modding with the PC version, but you'd also be helping the PC gaming community as a whole, since it seems like PCs are losing a battle to consoles very fast, and it's our chance to preserve the keyboard and mouse this way.

because it would only make sense to compare PC game sales to the combined sales of all consoles and treat marketshare as a finite resource at capacity that doesn't grow, only shifts, and that this has been happening very fast (or at all) for the past decade.

The OP gets it. On 360 you get the game, play it for a few months and then it's done. Move onto something else. Get it on PC and the volume of custom content will long outlive the game. It really depends on how far you want your money to go.

Well, at least the PS3 version of UT3 can get some custom content thanks to the ability of cooking it on the PC platforms. All exclusivity of X360 build is gone with the release of the Titan Pack adding the former exclusive content onto PC (is this also on PS3 btw?). So, X360 version of the game is UTTER FAILURE!

Wouldn't even consider the X360 as a good platform for a game like this, given that it's dead-ended as opposed to the other two platforms. Of course, the PS3 version's nice, but it could have used better controls, but the fact that you can cook mods and maps for it is nice...the X360 wasn't even in consideration when it came to multi-platform user mod cooks, so you can be rest assured that you won't get far with playing UT3 on that console.

It was in consideration. But Microsoft didn't want to give Epic permission to have any mods there.

This is one of the reasons why so many UT fans are angry at Epic. By consolizing UT3 and releasing it in an unacceptable buggy form they not only killed their UT franchise but also contributed to the demise of PC FPS gaming, at least arena-style FPS gaming.

Flak is right, you'll be better off getting the PC version than the M$ Xbox360 piece of junk!
I even hear the PS3 version is good and it supports some mods but the PC version is better.

Source: I've went through 8 Xbox360s in a 10 month period!

One word...Ubuntu.

That's right, I may attempt to get either UT2004 or UT3 installed on the tiny Debian-Linux based system, and see how that works out. Will it be better here than in Windows 7? We don't know. Better hope I can get it installed with native Linux code, as opposed to needing WINE to run it.

All right, sounds okay...guess I'll use Linux for UT2004, and Windows 7 for UT3 then. Split up the workload that way.
Take that back, Ubuntu 10.04 just doesn't seem stable enough to install UT2004 on, guess this is probably one of the least polished versions of Ubuntu ever.
I'll probably be sticking to Win 7 x64 as my true gaming platform until those are resolved.
