I haven't played for more than 5 minutes in weeks now. I've developed this sort of self-restriction to keep the game from growing too bland, but I generally hold off until the next patch, then play away.

I'm making a blood-elf alt when the expansion comes out. :D

Our Guild's main tank made this video of our take down on Lucifron Friday Night. It's become a race now as to how fast we can do it. We got the whole battle down to about 3 mins now.(that inclues the two adds) You're probably thinking to yourself, "****, BBA must get laid all the time just by telling the ladies that." Yeah it's true.:mwink:

I've found myself a bit uninterested in playing lately, mostly on my priest who is now level 55. It just gets boring, same old **** everytime and I'm always the first to die in PvE and PvP. I've been working on my hunter, I went out to Mulgore to tame The Rake for a PvP pet. It's a pain because Boomstik :)D) was level 28 and the pet was level 10 so I have had to level him up which has been a bit of a grind for a few hours at a time the past week. Now I gotta track down all his skills (stealth, etc) which means I gotta buy another damn stable slot.

Night Elf Warden > all

You know what's sad? I've gone back a title in the franchise. Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne multiplayer is addicting as crack right now. I managed to get into the micro-managing frantic gameplay and was totally gripped. Some people have said that the gameplay is "as slow as molasses", but when you start rushing the enemy's base 2 minutes into the game after furiously rushing to get a perfect build order it makes Starcraft feel like watching paint dry. I'm currently trying to get the first icon for a Random character (25 wins online). I have 19 wins and a lot of losses. ****ing fun.

Still addicted to WoW though. The gameplay at level 60 when you're guild isn't doing many instances is like playing Pokemon: you grind a whole bunch to get those cool items/monsters. Unfortunately, I liked Pokemon, and I like World of Warcraft.

Might I also say that I met some really pathetic personalities playing WC3:TFT. But most of the people were nice enough to make pleasant statements like "gl hf" or "thx, u2" before they kick my ass.

EDIT: Yay I got my 25th win! I have an icon better than a peon!

Attached: My first alt, a level 18 Human Priest (Ecamec), chilling on the bench in the shadow of the Archmagus(?) and the Cathedral of Light in Stormwind. (Scaled from 1600x1200x32x4.)

My professions are going along far better now than they were. My First Aid is actually higher than my Herbalism and Alchemy (105 vs. 103 and 101), but, of course, Cooking and Fishing languish (4 and 1). Can't they do something to make these more palatable and useful? Not that First Aid is useful yet, but I've got a better use for the Wool Cloth I loot than to just sell it. (I could be using it for Ironforge rep...)

Being a Human seems to be more of a hassle than it was to be a Night Elf, further complicated by my choice to be a Priest. Westfall is a haven for low-level jerks cockier than they really ought to be. I can't elaborate much but I got into a brief argument with a Warrior who said he escorted the Defias Traitor by himself at level 15. Uh yeah...you're a Warrior, designed to kill...you can attract the aggro of mobs and deal with it. I can too, but not by choice and certainly not because I want to. Assclown. I'm moving on to Redridge and not even bothering with the Deadmines. If I think people are jerks now I can just imagine them when they want healing and I'm being killed.

As for my main (a level 60 Night Elf Hunter, in case you forgot), he's gathering dust except when I need money for my lowbie to splurge at the auction house. Getting a group for UBRS is not an appealing scenario, but I really ought to try and get the last 3 pieces of my set and get back to work on my professions. Herbalism is so much less the hassle that Mining is that going back to work on my main's profs is pretty unappealing, and Alchemy is so simple right now (get herbs and empty vial, insert, mix, get levels, sell lame potions only new players would want but never need) that it makes Blacksmithing look like an analogy for getting an UBRS group. :p

The end-game is just too unappealing to me. Farming for the sake of farming, raiding for the sake of raiding...call me when the expansion comes.

BTW, 1.8.4 is out, but no major changes. Like Hallow's End, the winter stuff is in the game, but not public yet.

I lost interest in this game a while ago. The biggest contributor is lack of community. Standing around in IF spamming LFG for hours only to not get a response is killer. Because of this fact It took me several months to do the Onyxia chain. Gearing up for MC was just as bad. Stand around LFG to farm the item I need. blech.

My guild wasnt much help either. They were all to focused on MC (of which they just recently killed Raggy) or BG's. A few took the time to help me every now and then which I was extremely grateful for considering how hard it was in the past to get any help. Getting help in the guild chat didnt work 95% of the time which was noted from experience and one of the guild leaders, but finding a PvP group in guild chat worked almost all the time. If I wanted help I had to basically "schedual" a time for help on the forums which was hard because sometimes I didnt know when or how long I would be on for; forums that more then half the guild dont read. It was supposed to be a community focused guild too. They're turning more and more hard core raiding. The community aspect wasnt there really in the form of helping others unless it involved MC or BG's.

That sums it up. Im jaded. I've quit WoW and may only return when the expansion is released. I dont care anymore. For the vast majority of people in WoW if something doesnt benefit them in some way, they wont help.

Thats one thing that SWG had going for it. The community was great, apart from the usual whiners and jerks. I never had trouble finding a group for something and my guild new I existed and invited me to help them out with things all the time. I miss that part of the game or any game for that matter.

Up my ass
Ilkman I know exactly how you feel. I quit because of that crap too. Most players just care about themselfs. I read this one story where this guild was litterally tearing this one guy apart. They demanded that he be on WoW 24/7and be around for raids. This guy turned into a complete mess and ruined his life. People take this game so seriously.

Maybe video games don't cause you to be violent, but games like World of Warcraft can prove that they can ruin your life from being addictive. And WoW isn't even fun, there is nothing fun about it. People play it nonstop because its work. It is time consuming and most people in this game are just drones who can't see that. The thought of progress which WoW does so well brain washes people.

MMORPG's work only if the community helps itself. If the community is only interested in what they want to do, then your going to lose player base. Thats why i left. Like Ilkman said, I myself spent an entire week LFG'ing for Maraudon but everyone was too busy going to Molten Core and fighting Onyxia. Refer to my post in Phatcats thread on more of what i hate. That **** dont come free you know, it takes time and patience to get it done and when the community doesnt cooperate, its damn near hopeless. The community is supposed to work together, help out the lowbies and get them to the higher ups so they can help YOU with the high end content as well. Ive played 3 MMORPG's so far, Ragnarok Online, FF11, and WoW. I can safetly say FF11 and Ragnarok Online combined still dont match the whining and uncooperative attitude of WoW. Typing this out really pains me cause I had so much fun with WoW, mainly because it had so much content. If the community grew up more then... well i guess ill never find out now.

Yeah community is what ultimately led me to just get fed up with the game all of a sudden. I was loving it right until like level 55 on my priest. Endgame is very "gimme-gimme" and it's all about collecting purple items to make you into some uber version of your character. I really loved the game content and gameplay (although PvP has proven time and time again to just be about who has the best gear or who can **** with their connection the best), but I don't want to sit around with 39 whiny ****s who spend all their time looking up what items drop from what guy and then farming them. I liked WoW for the exploration and the environment but there are parts of the game that you cannot experience without having a raiding guild, and I just don't feel like putting myself through all that. It's a great game, but all the Battle.net kiddies have really screwed it for me.

While my 21 priest idles, I gave my main a quick run through the AH. Didn't pick anything up, since I either have the best things around or the others I can't get from the AH. I did decide to sell my cards "of Beasts", Two through Eight. I bought them on the AH in the hopes that the Ace may surface. It may have (I haven't been paying attention), but getting it personally means killing The Beast, which means going to UBRS, which means getting a group, which is an aforementioned horror story. I could get at least 80 gold or as much as 240 (or more, if people go over the buyout which I doubt). Maybe there is someone out there with the Ace looking for a deal...
