D/L'ed works great and lasts long time ;)

Question? Can you ajust the position where the new text shows up? A player was wondering since is uses low res in game.

One more Question. What is the chance of you putting ReportDirection and UTCompass together in one package? That way it will make one less mutie to load. :)

Are you using MultiMut Odie? If not, try it. Works really well.

Olethros, Any chance of making it display all SAY and TEAMSAY messages instead of just TEAMSAY? Maybe an option?

is there an option to allow you to have teammates shown all the time on the compass? haven`t noticed online but playing with the bots offline their "position" only stays on for a short time....duration of their message I think

Just look in the ini and set "bServerConstantTeam" to true, and voila. Note that this is a server setting, meaning that online you won't get to choose. This option was added by olethros for those like me who think having the team displayed at all times is not really realistic.

I agree it certainly isn`t realistic....I`m still hoping for something that would simulate a battlefield comms unit, which would have a GPS system in it....I know thats what olethros`s GPS mutie was designed for but unfortunatly it don`t work (as yet :( with 2.9) I know theres RD ...and I`ve at last sussed out how to use it, but in battle I`m a bit too busy trying to stay alive to be watching the chat window at top of screen and the compass in the middle...lmao...I`d really like just one box to look at that would contain all the info. something like the radar that you can use in the HUD options...I don`t but if it only came on when someone on your team comunicated and went off when they finished it would be a very usable (and realistic?) aid....not sure what modern day hardware is available to the military atm.....or maybe it could be modelled as a hand held set? so you have to put your weapon down to use it...and so could only use it in "safe" area I think Team Factor (bad game I know!!) actually had something like that.....ramble....ramble....

Personally I'd prefer just TeamSay messages, makes it a lot easier to filter out all the rubbish. Good job Olethros... although DTAS still needs supporting ;).

Well, I like reading the rubbish to and without the compass fonts that is often impossible. Gets annoying (not to mention dangerous) having to open the console so I can see what someone said. But that is why I said it should be optional, so that I can turn it on but you don't have to. :)

Anyhow, outstanding work on this compass. It really rocks (DTAS support would be nice tho).

Well I think I would since Beppo wrote it for when I ran into the problem of players not connecting correctly on a map change when your command line was more than 255 Characters (too man muties). ;)

The only issue I have with MultiMut is that if you use WebAdmin to apply changes, WebAdmin loads the mutators that are active and so does MultiMut. This causes mutators to try and load twice, which you when you use Report Direction after this it reports twice in game.

It was just a request since Olethros writes both and they seemed to be used at the same time anyway.

Yes I would like the option of Say too ;) Perhaps in a different color?

DTAS support is 'in progress,' i.e. in the progress of finding out wether or not it can be done.

The duplicated mutators issue with MultiMut and Webadmin is also being looked at. For both UTCompass and RD.

The next version of RD (v1.20) will give users the opportunity to use the "old" 8-way cardinal headings if they include the tag '%o' in the 'mutate direction' messages.

'Say' messages along the left edge of the screen is not a priority ATM. Don't get your hopes too high about this. The main reason being that it would take more redesigning than one would think to read both 'Say' and 'teamSay' messages from the console.

No doubt about this. It is always easy as a consumer to say, hey do this, it shouldn't be too hard. ;)

Ok. Dumb question. How do I get INF to recognize a mutator I've downloaded, either from a website or into my cache off of a server, in the Mutator options? I would like to practice offline with a lot of these mutators, but the Mutator option only shows me mutators that shipped with 2.9. I've tried putting the .u's and .int's and .ini's and .everthingelse's in both the UT/system and UT/Inf/system but they don't show up as available mutuators. Am I that inept?

V0.7 released

In lieu of the issues with the compass sporcadically failing to appear I've adapted a completely different approach in "handing out" the HUD mutator to the clients. Namely by a spawnInfo rather than through the mutator directly. This feature has been rather shamelessly copied from Stinkmarder's INFYAC compass mutator, so all credits for that one belong with him and Cleeus.

Also new in v0.7 is DTAS support. Probably. I haven't tested that one online yet, but the theory is sound. (The very similar Domination mode works perfectly, at least, so I'll take my chances.) If this feature is raising hell on the server, or if it makes locating the DTAS points too easy, serveradmins can disable it with the "mutate utcDTAS" command.

Download here or here, as usual.

This new version does not appear on the DTAS server and crashes clients after a few minutes. I will provide more details when I get time for more testing. Can you post a link to the .6 version?

Thanks. And it looks like the crash may have been caused by me accidentally putting the old 50 Cal Penetration fix in. I will pay around with it more tomorrow and see if I can get it working.
