Got point there
But you gotta admit, it looks hella cool.
almost even Hanover-level, coolness wise

EDIT: During playing I was a bit disappointed though, it wasn't the large, crazy, wild beast I was hoping for. Although doubling the drawscale sure improves things

Now let's not get carried away, eh? Nothing will ever be that cool ;)

edit: Incidentally, TWD, people don't always make models just for the hell of making a cool model for a game they like. Prospective employers will always be on the lookout for the guys who show vision and creativity, and the ability to create something that isn't 'The Norm'. I think Skullbox and Dark Horizon both fall into this category with the excellent and unique models they make.

People need to make practical models that have similar shape to the ones already in the game, but with enough variety to stand out. Most of these models you guys are raving about I would never use. It's just too different it'd throw everyone off. Stand out like a sore thumb.

That's kinda the point, I don't know if you noticed but the player size is tiny. So tiny that it's difficult to tell if it's even a different model. I was playing Bobo last night and he was sporting the Glumph model and I couldn't even tell until I was really up close. Add to that the general dodgy/jumpy fast pace of the game and it's difficult to tell what's what.

I like the ones that are really out of place, they're the only one's that are even noticeable.

I wish we could get that two legged Quake eyeball.

Well that's the other thing these models aren't really all THAT origional. Effigy and this and a lot of the other models all have the same sort of theme. These might as well be the crappy models from quake.

Look at the models like the female robot and such we were all in such awe at before ut2004 was released. Now that's a good looking model, that's origional. If you look back at that guy's work in UT1. If you want to be hired that's what kind of work you should be doing. Not the same dark ugly monster type thing we're seeing so much of right now. It's just not unreal it's quake, and quake's theme/feel/origionality sucks BIG TIME.

No, they're not that original, but they both demonstrate that these authors don't constrain themselves to the same old same old. If called upon to make something different, something not human, whatever, they'd be able to say 'Yes, we can do that'.

Radio - I said almost as cool, but I must admit, I got carried away.
Nothing will ever get close to the outstanding dominating ownage level of our friend Han.
Ow, sorry, typed "our friend" there. Naturally neither of us mortals would be worthy enough to be even called his friend.

TWD - Look, As far as I'm concerned, I give zit about what you think of that theme. Now I reckon the more variety there is the better. And yes, I also agree that is looks a bit like Effigy. But so what? Deck 17 looks like Deck 16, the female 2004 robots look like Medusa and Subversa. So what?
OK, we dig it (meaning me, Radio, _Zd_Bee, and the holyness who's name I may and shall not filthen by using it in the same sentence as us normal humans). And you apparently don't. And just because 2 models heve the same theme doesn;t automatically mean that both suck.
Chrome, Tydal, DoubleDamage, Aquarius, Gazpacho, Tempest, Crash, Squader, Orbital2, Core, Phobos2, Training Day, Leviathan, Disclosure, December, Geothermal, Conduit, Access and many, MANY more then also would all be bad, cause they have a sort-like theme?
No, they're all good, and so are all those models
Even so, Effigy is for 2003, (yesm I know, it's gonna be converted, but it isn't yet) so you have 1 model for 2003, and 1 for 2004. You don't like 'em, tehn don't waste your time on discussing em either.

That's exactly why I like using custom models. I like standing out. If you're easy to spot, people are going to shoot at you more. The more people shooting at you, the more fun you have. :D

And remember the baby avi I used to have? Imagine that melon head on a jugs body!

Oh, and I'm STILL, since the 2k3 days, waiting on my model of Richard Simmons!!!

I can probably finish this skin if you really want it MAEST, I started it and posted it around on Polycount and stuff to get feedback but hardly got any. I lost interest in it after a while, but if you want it or anyone else does I'll fire it back up and polish it off.

I didn't bother messing with it anymore because EPIC STOLE my idea with Divisor. /Doc Edo.
