Sounds pretty good hey, Im not surprised kanji takes awhile... Katakana was bad enough for me, never did get the hang of it

Yeah fallout 3 is a game and a half isnt it, sure its got bugs but from what Ive played and heard about it, it deserves the praise it gets. I was surprised to see a mod community pop up around it, when Im not in amongst things over here and with UT Ive been tending to look at DoW mods. Looking forward to see what people do with the sequel, I just hope it being GFWL doesnt mean it'll be all locked off, I havent heard much news on the GTA4 front in that respect.

The particle editor defiantly is different, perhaps not the best layout choice (as node based could have been better) but the view does work and so does instancing subobjects. It really does make things easier even if there is a curve involved, there are clips around (on the CE DVD) for it as well

Funnily enough I've been playing Fallout 3 heavily for the last week or so with absolutely no ill-effects. Great game, if a little (actually a lot heh) buggy. Probably going to try a spot of modding on it sometime, might even add my UC2 rocket launcher :D Played UT3 a bit as well but that made me feel terrible pretty quickly, I guess because it's so fast paced compared to something like Fallout 3.
The new particle editor is completely alien to me so far, couldn't figure it out heh. I only fiddled a little bit though, but from what I saw it's pretty awesome. Nice finally having a proper preview for all the components as well as the finished emitter.
And yeah, getting there with Japanese, it's slow going though. Grammar makes my head ache and learning all the kanji takes so much time it's insane lol Still, good fun :)

Yeah I remember you sayin you were having problems with nausea, I must admit I do get it occasionally myself with certain games, also when the refresh is low or motion blur is cranked it does my head in. Perhaps a mutator to slow it down alittle like the PS3 version might be the go, that might help some.

The particle system, well when I was messing with it I though back to uc2004 and wondered how much easier it woulda been on us if we had the new particle editor. Theres also improvements to the ingame stuff as well, not as many slow downs with a heap of particles near the camera.

Good to hear youre still learnin the japanese language etc, you must be getting better after all this time. We'll have to catch up on irc or somethin, Im in the beyondunreal channel on etg so if you drop by sometime you should catch me

Yeah I work on other stuff occasionally, mostly when a game isn't quite how I want it to be so I tweak it up a little to my own tastes :)
Been mostly doing stuff with Japanese games the last few years, visual novels, jrpgs, learning the language too of course. Fun stuff :D
I should really check UT3 out sometime I guess, been wanting to mess with the particle system for ages now, just kinda worried how the game will affect me. I'm ok with most games now after much struggling and effort, but FPS games are still a bit dodgy and make me feel horrible after a few hours of play :( Still, guess I can only try and see.

Yeah man Im still around, kinda left quake.net cause there wasnt much happenin. Went inactive on UC2004 pretty much, I been working on other stuff so Im still in the game modding.

Thought you might have bugged out of game modding, its all good though we gotta do what we gotta do right ;) Just wondered where you went and what you been up to really since I havent caught ya in so long.

I still keep in touch with most of the peeps from UC2004, occasionally someone will do alittle more work but its slow going. Personally I been sticking with UE3 projects and Im really enjoying the updates to uscript.

Anyways dude, will chat later

Hello thar :) I dropped by the channel a few times to see if you were around but spadge said you'd been MIA for a while. Glad to see you're still around :D And yeah, I'm ok, not really doing much game modding any more though. You guys still working on UC2004?
