UT III - Skaarj Hybrids

Hi guys,

I just decided to start modeling the high res meshes of my Skaarj Hybrids.

Concept Arts for the people who didn't see them :

Some additional heads/Mask/Helmet ideas :

What I planned to make for this pack (for each gender) :

Heads : 5
Face mask/Helmet : 5
Shoulder packs : 4
Torsos : 4
Thighs : 4
Arms : 4
Boots : 4

I will configure some additional bot using the armor variations.


Yes, i know it sounds like a lot of work. But I want and will do it.
In the second UTIII patch, it seems we will be finally able to create our own custom factions !

Update should be next week.

About the Krall Hybrids, don't worry they are still planned.

Holla Mac,that's much stuff you like to make for UT3,very impressive.At first I wanna say,that I already know some of these characters,but the concepts are good,I do really like the new armor and masks / faces concepts.The middle face concept of the male warrior reminds me to the Predator,hehe,cool.Can't wait to see them all in action.

Actually you can change the shoulder packs by clicking on "Toggle shoulderpack" in the Character customization screen.

And thanks again for the screenshots, seems I must reduce a bit the specular map. The model is a bit too bright.

I did it by Shoulderpack section but I didnt do Toggle section
shoulderpack customization didnt work for me still only left shoulder pack
and my screenshot is Bot so I want Bot have both Shoulderpack too

Did you try to hit the "Toggle" option several times ?
It worked for me .

Hell man,the model looks good at the moment,but some things on it are strange,the head looks a little bit too small,compared with the rest of the body and the shoulders are simple made.Try to make the shoulders more massive and the head bigger,just my advices.

Can't wait to see the female model,hehe,I hope you will give the model some Skaarj Hybrid sexappeal.

Hey Mac,on the last days,I watched some of my loved Godzilla movies and somehow the legs of your male model have a similar design like Godzilla's legs,it isn't the same design,but it looks a little bit similar,don't think I wouldn't like it,I love it.

thanks , Skaarj Males will have a more classic touch and the Females are quite the new stuffs.

Now I have information in order to use the UTIII customization system at its best. I need the incoming patch though (custom factions, ...)

@ Anubis, if you say so. I wonder how many Godzilla movies they did.

Some progress :

I resized the head and the shoulder packs of the Skaarj hybrid male.
And finished the first female meshe.
Female polycount : 12 000

I like the shoulder pads on the female. Like I said above a male version of that armor style would be cool. Just make the shoulder pads wider and that sphere thing bigger.

Oh hell,they made many Godzilla movies and I do really love them all.Sure at the beginning Godzilla doesn't looked that good,but after time he looked awesome and the movie by Roland Emmerich is marvellous.

Holla my dear lord,pretty awesome redesigned models Mac,the male version looks very good,I think the textured version will be incredible made,isn't it.Once again,the female version looks fascinating like before,I do like the shoulder design,looks very myserious and deadly.So far,amazing work bro,you rocks like hell.

EDIT: Hell,I love the updates on your site,I didn't know you work on the Chaos mod for UT3.

Very very busy lately ! Didn't have much time to figure out how to create custom factions with the new new patch.

However , I ve got time to think about the females armor design :

It should fit more UTIII style and keep my own touch at the same time.
