Unreal early cuts: Pictures

Wow, nice shot of the dragon. I've never seen it in an actual game screenshot.

The arena looks like the dark arena, just an early version of it, but I may be wrong. The gun in the second shot is just the earlier automag model in secondary fire mode.

What's that level in the quadshot pic though?

this is another screen with the dragon... in all early shot (even the oldest) is shows a dragon... never knew why especially this creature is removed.... they skipped enemies because they were not 'cool' enough... so that must be the reason to skip the dragon i suppose

Just click on the unreal week link (on top of page 3 of this thread) and look at the gallery links below... there are a lot of images that I haven't seen before

Blinded by reality

The high standards of the Epic team would also cause delays. "The rule was that only the coolest stuff gets in," says Bleszinski. "If there was a creature that wasn't as good as some of the other ones, it was out. Theoretically, we could have made two or three games out of all the content we created. We just wanted the best stuff in there."

I gotta tip my hat to the epic team for having such high standards, thats what created the magic of Unreal
What they should do is release an Unreal:Uncut Edition where they release the maps that didn't make the cut;)
