Dregs has a nice little treat for you mappers out there:

All texture sets are complete and contain all combiners, shaders, env maps, animated sequences, material references, .etc, as Unreal 2. The only texture content missing is player and weapon skins: my goal was to recover building/ship type items complete with all sfx applied and ready for use. I purposely made all file folders to begin with "U2" to help users navigate quickly to the content, plus I kept all the original filenames used in Unreal 2 as well. There's over 200 meshes here for use, but user beware: many models are very dense and should be used with supreme knowledge of mapping optimization techniques; Testing and common sense will dictate use accordingly. Enjoy.

Download Unreal 2 Mesh & Texture Pack (49.90 MB) from BeyondUnreal FileWorks.

I thought there were huge gobs of legal issues involved with this?

Oh well, hopefully I thought wrong. U2 was, if nothing else, a very pretty game. Cheers. :)

I think that a while ago that epic cleared U2 stuff so that it could be used in UT04, etc.

So, I'm a bit confused here. We (XMPers) just simply dragged and dropped all this stuff into our UT2004 folder. And it worked fine. What is different about this? Am I missing something? And as far as the leagal stuff goes, I thought in EULA they said, "Hey were happy that you can use resources from different Unreal 'only' games in 2k4."

Months ago, before putting the time/effort of assembling this pack, I had verbal confirmation from Epic and proceeded with the build. A few days ago, prior to the release, Raffi_B questioned/challenged the legality of the release as well. I then obtained an approval email from Mark Rein of Epic and copied it to Raffi_B and Hal of BeyondUnreal, thus the file release through BeyondUnreal Fileworks. (Thank you, guys).

It was really hard to find. It took me about 5 (if not 6) seconds to enter the term Unreal 2 into the search field. Oh and after that it said "Unreal 2 Mesh & Textures for UT2004" in the first search result, so I had to figure out that it is the first search result that I am looking for (took about another 0.3 seconds).

ALong with the dl and rendering of the pages I had spent about 12 seconds finding it....

Compare that with the time you waited for an answer in this forum and after that think about what you have done wrong...
