UC2 skins

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

Only 4 for me? lol. When you scan through the next 311 posts I'll show up a little more often... Most of the highlighted names are those of the creators! They must have had a lot to say, too...

Yap, I think you will have made much more than 4, I`ll keep on counting later *g*
The creators surely had the most to tell and show, just the way it should be :p

EDIT: There might be a faster, easier and more reliable method to count, maybe someone knows more than me about this? I think Source code won`t work good, neither does copy and paste or save page *g*

It´s not like it´s ugly or something, it´s just that her armor is made of white leather...which isn´t that reflective.

Thx for helping me with the shader.
I´ll send the file to old man funk as soon as i get the file and the pack is finally done:)

lol yeah leather isn't typically that reflective. It just looked like white metal or plastic the way its jointed.

Its removed and the file has been updated. Feel free to download it from the location in your email. :)

Would you mind sharing that cubemap? Or the texture you've used for its TexEnvMap?

I would like to see what you've used to get that effect, else I would recommend blend it down just a bit.

For the leather use the shader style I used for devastation and make it a big round blurry cubemap and a dark alpha channel. Could look cool.

I could have done something more with the alpha channels and such for the leather parts, but hey, no real need. ;)

the cubemap is an underexposed verison of the rather common Ufizzi lightprobe with a gaussian blur to get rid of some of the details. Making it more of a spec map than a direct reflection. The settings are just a normal cubemap, texenvmap set to world space and 3dTexcoords, with the shader spec map alpha totally white with a 4 pixel feather near the boot seams

and maxx, you are nuts. :p

Of course! Its a public domain image, thanks to Paul debevec (http://www.debevec.org). All I did was to lower the exposure(well lower the time, or decrease the aperature..) using HDR Shop. If I remember right you just can't use the image in a commercial product, but otherwise knock yourself out.

BTW ya ever stop and read some of the things we type when discussing skins and such? I mean that last post of mine had so much jargon in it as to be incomprehensable to most other than Unreal-ED junkies who skin.

I got what you posted but since you altered it I had the courtesey to ask permission, before bloating the interwebs with it.
Oh you used a completely white alpha? I would make it more grey, just read it 8 times more, and I would recommend you did that, but it's up to Slaughter what to do with it. I personally never use pure white for alphas on cubemaps nor texenvmaps.

Hey it's him with that Fiat Lux video, awesome work he does.
