Yeah Terry Gilliam is surprisingly absent from here, I think people spaced him. (Monty Python Films, Time Bandits, Brazil 12 Monkeys, Fisher King, Fear and Loathing in LV)

what is so good about that movie??? Ok its very very realistic but is it good? The story is absolute rubbish... the glory US-boys... brave men to death... total shit. Th strating scene is fantastic because T think no movie ever impressed me with his realistic violence... but the rest...

Ack! I forgot about Clash of the Titans. I saw that in the theatre, when I was just a little feller. I had little clash of the Titans action figures.

To me I couldn't give a good fuck about the story line in Saving Private Ryan. It simply brought some of the best combat scenes ever to the screen and for that it deserves its place at the top of my movie list.

Also, L.A. Confidential was another good crime movie.

more movies I forgot and a disgrace

couple more if forgot to throw in there:
silence of the lambs
glory
how the grinch stole christmas /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

---------------------------------------------
now for the disgrace...I was looking over at imdb.com and at their users top 250 list....it was horrible(I agreed with some of the rankings but for the most part they were way off...I suggest everyone take a look at it)

here are some rankings of movies that dont deserve that much credit:
25)toy story 2
76)the iron giant
125)x-men (ridiculous since it just came out)

now look at what some deserving movies got:
112)return of the jedi
126)a christmas story
154)Indy and the last crusade
163)forrest gump
171)back to the future
177)untouchables
178)stand by me
190)et

All I have to say is...what crap (and that isnt even all of it)

anyone have any opinions on this?

X-Men was boring and it didn;t last long enough. I definitely wouldn't pay to see it again.
Some movies I left out:
Gladiator
Ready to Rumble
Me, Myself, & Irene
Forest Gump
Braveheart (HOW COULD I FORGET!)
Goldeneye
Indiana Jones Trilogy

that;s all for now... man i wish i could have seen Evil Dead 2 on the silver screen... CURSE MY YOUNH AGE! :p

A few that come to mind...

1. Superman the Movie (heh heh, it's a childhood thing for me).
2. Terminator 2 (the ground-breaking computer fx blew me away).
3. Heat (can't beat the Al Pacino/Robert DeNiro combo).
4. Return of the Jedi (90 mph chase scenes through redwood forests was a riot).
5. Executive Decision (spec ops in the friendly skies, just plain blew me away).
6. The Getaway (cool action flick, couldn't take my eyes off Kim Basinger).
7. 9 1/2 Weeks (couldn't take my eyes off Kim Basinger...).
8. Breakdown (amazing movie).
9. Braveheart (the musical score still reverberates w/in my mind...)
10. Top Gun (I just love fighter jets.)

Nothing too sophisticated, I just go to movies to sit back and have fun...

10. Aliens Directors Cut (Mmmm, 17 xtra minutes of rare footage, *DROOL*)
11. Saving Private Ryan
12. End of Days (Hmm, Arnie VS. Satan, things surely must go BOOM, to bad they b0rked the MP5)

Goddamn it....

I can't believe I forgot Usual Suspects. That would have to be number 4 on my list. You had to watch it twice to get all those little details. Really great film with a very multi-layered plot.
