, what? Don't you know how to interpret a speculative article? I know very well that the original author is well known on the internet to pull theories out of his ass.

Interesting. Some digging brought this up about the site though:

http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/European_Union_Times

With that said, it would be naive to think that manipulations of the genre have never never used.
EUT is not the original source. The fact that a BS source takes the initiative to copy an article does not affect the credibility of the original. (which I admit is low to begin with)

Look, the "credible" media behaved horribly in the first hours of this tragedy, by rushing to blame Al-Qaeda and Muslims. What's more, the general public has been deceived on plenty issues for decades now. If I sometimes feel tempted to dig information and figure out what happens or what may have happen from dubious or even conspiracy sources, it's because sometimes it's hard to know who to trust.

o dear, the comments to that article, calling the victims cowards for not taking him out. You'd have to run pretty fast to close the distance on someone on an open field before they pull the trigger on you. The speed of light will not suffice! We're going to have to go at the speed of darkness (which was already there before light, remember).

Some of the facts in that article are a bit off though, and they word it a bit funnily to try and skew the perspective. He didn't drive the bomb into a "protected" area, it's an open street that anyone can stroll right into. The police were "unexplainedly" delayed because it was on an isolated little island and they had to arrange for boats.

Erm, having seen pictures of the gun he used (sturdy manufacturing, aimer, ...), I'd be surprised if anyone had a slightest chance of taking him down. The guy who took him accross on a boat thinking he was a policeman said that the bag he had with him was heavy (probably had some explosives with him) and they'd assumed is was bomb disposal apparatus.

Edit: The killer apparently used a Ruger Mini-14 semi http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruger_Mini-14

somewhere; sometime?

I admire your skepticism.
generally speaking, it's healthy to be skeptical of the mainstream media, regardless of what side you think they're taking.

but you should also be careful of trying to connect the dots so soon when it comes to a case like this. there's no way a conclusion can be drawn in any direction just days after the event, especially before the trial begins.

oh speaking of the trial... is it true that Norway's maximum sentence for murder is just 21 years?
apparently they can extend that indefinitely, so the shooter could easily be imprisoned for life. but 21 seems like such a weird number, so arbitrary.

Yeah, 21 is "life", but they can keep him in custody indefinitely. It's just a matter of definition really, he'll be locked up either way.

It will be interesting seeing how he is treated by his fellow prisonmates.
