Yes, another Kickstarter, but one worth backing.

Think of a low-fantasy RPG, with a combat and interaction system based on actual physics and not animations and health bars.

It's more of an open world game where you are cast out into the world to explore its mysteries, so it's more of an adventure game rather than a fast paced slasher. Kind of a bit like the Ultima games.


If that's not worth supporting, than nothing else is.

He wrote all that... by himself... while working a full-time job? I don't know very much if at all about any type of game engine but the quality of the engine mimics other established engines such as the Unreal Engine 4. How long did this take?

Minecraft took 2 years for the first full version of it (1.0) to release and its graphics aren't exactly what one would call extravagant. This guy here has already made a fully functioning top-of-the-line engine and he hasn't even gotten started on the actual game yet.

Yes, I understand he is working with a team but he says explicitly that he was responsible for the whole engine.

Dunno, could be a lie.

He says he was working on it for years. Guess the textures and other stuff was made by the other team members in the meantime, but obviously they had no animator.

I also wondered how one can just write such a nice engine, but maybe it isn't as nice as we think it is?

Wow, this looks really good. It reminds me of Diablo with physics and without all the click-click-click. The fight against the rock troll (?) was awesome to watch.
