Finally got a Core i7 6700k
And an Asus Z170-AR.
And Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB DDR4-2400
And a Corsair H115i (which seemed like a bitch to install for some reason.)
And a Corsair RM750X PSU
And a Samsung 850 EVO 250 SSD.

Now all I need to do is replace this 980 Kingpin.

A USB 3 hub with individual power switches for each port. I got fed up with climbing under the desk just because game x decides to grab whatever controller gets reported first and ignore the others. Especially annoying if your mouse has an analogue paddle*. Not handling input devices intelligently (read = use the rocket surgery technology of having an option to select which one should be used) should be a crime.

This one: https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-Individual-Switches-included-HB-UMP3/dp/B00TPMEOYM

* Bonus points go to games that simply crash when they start up and there's no mouse connected. Gg guys.

I've been on a nostalgia kick lately and felt like playing my old NES. (which I still have) I dug it out and hooked it up and played some games, but having every game (including variations + mods/hacks) on my PC, I wanted to be able to play them on my NES too as that would be the PIV nostalgia orgasm I was looking for. I ended up buying an N8 Everdrive. Having 8800 some ROMs on an SD card plugged into the cartridge is pretty hot sex. I'm digging it.

^hot diggity damn! Gotta google if there's one for snes too.
If you lack a console or don't want the wear and tear on your old system you can get consoles that play multiple types of cartridges. I have a Hyperkin RetroN 5. Their (build)quality isn't terrible, it isn't amazing quality, but they only cost about $40 to $140 US depending on the number of cartridge types they support so it isn't the end of the world. One thing to watch for though is how they connect to a TV or monitor. The one I have Supports 9 different cartridges, has HDMI output, and a slot for an SD card.
